We use Apollo.io for lead generation and sequence building. Apollo.io is able to create targeted lead lists based on a whole host of filters. We have been very pleased with the results so far and the platform is much more advanced than other outreach softwares we have used in the past.

Likelihood to Recommend

Lead generation based on specific target filters or similar companies is fantastic. Great for larger organizations that do lots of outbound. Too advanced for smaller companies.

  • FInding more phone numbers, you have a lack of phone numbers or it's too expensive to find them with the other databases you guys provide

To find contacts and send emails to do mass outreach. Apollo.io helps the process by finding emails that can be very closely filtered and speeds up the process of sending emails in bulk. Its been very useful for me.

Cold outreach at scale. Ability to reach out to a large number of prospects in a short amount of time.

Pros

  • Fairly easy to navigate.
  • Like campaigns but could not move and test LinkedIn in a 2-week trial.
  • Used my own email addresses, and the response rate is better.

Cons

  • I could not trail a campaign fully so comments are limited.
  • Improve Apollo provided emails. It appears you rely on your clients to provide emails to your email list.
  • The ability to focus on Titles like CRO, Brand Manager, etc.

Likelihood to Recommend

Easy to use. Some of the new platforms like Clay help with personalization to better engagement. GenAi is creating really interesting new avenues for client outreach and the marketplace is trying to determine the best way forward. They could be some disruption to current providers. Especially for new young firms looking for something new and different.

We use it for sales and outreach for things like email automation, finding prospects contact information, etc. Some people use it to make calls out of directly, but most people still use Orum because it is faster and and works better. We replaced outreach with Apollo.

  • Delivers emails

  • The UI is horrible
  • The information is wrong (contacts and phone numbers)
  • It's not very fast and lags all the time
  • Not user friendly
  • Too many filters
  • Building a sequence is too complicated

Likelihood to Recommend

I would not recommend Apollo to any colleague. I would recommend that they stick with Outreach because of the ease of use and simplicity of it. The dialer in Apollo really isn't great either, so I wouldn't recommend it for a dialer.

I use Apollo.io to contact more potential CPAs and business appraisers to join our organization and help them satisfy their required CE credits. To broadcast our upcoming events, like conferences and webinars, to more people, and in a way, the company will have more members and eventually get them to do business with us.

  • To give a more detailed information on potential clients.
  • To provide much organize and systematic task to get things done.

  • To get additional feedback after task is done.
  • Additional details/ information after the call.
  • More information on how to get successful clients.

The automatic email feature is extremely helpful for quickly contacting more potential clients. It is user-friendly and easy to access all buttons, which helps you navigate the task efficiently. It could greatly help to acquire more clients for a project to be successful. I cannot see anything less appropriate for me to achieve the goal I am aiming for.

Apollo helps us to highly target certain industries and personas. It eliminates the need for constant follow-up with leads, as the sequencing function effectively sends out emails at regular intervals with different call-to-actions.

Pros

  • Sequencing
  • Creating lists for specific industries.
  • Finding company emails and titles that are always accurate.

Cons

  • Usability unless you are quite technically savvy it is challenging to navigate the amazing functionality.
  • Providing more granular industry niches.
  • Updating of personnel email addresses when they change jobs, or at least highlighting they have moved on by tracking their LinkedIn.

Likelihood to Recommend

Ideal for marketing campaigns if you are looking to target specific niches and personas. It is also ideal for creating lists that you can follow up on later. Re-triggering sequences every 3 months is also easy, as you don't have to redo the same sequence once it is set.

I am located in Germany, and we need to respect everything GDPR compliance. I feel Apollo is mainly designed for the US Market, where it is way easier to reach out to prospects without their consent. So I need more support in this Area to fully use it.

Great tool for a start-up sales motion. Prospecting, data validation, CRM, sequences, calls, and deal management all in one place. Also, the setup is ridiculously easy. I also have a lot of experience with prospecting and CRM tools, but still. Really impressed with it overall. Also got a call with support 1:1, which was really appreciated. Excited to explore the ai features more.

Good for sales startups, but perhaps not as effective once you have a full-blown sales team. Not sure what else to write here, it's very similar to my previous feedback. Good for start-ups and keeping all the costs in one platform. I do wish it were less buggy, but it's good. thank you.
