I mostly use Adobe Acrobat in a professional setting to compile reports for an environmental consulting company. The problems it addresses is allowing me to create a complete report with all the documents in one place.
Pros
Allows me to combine multiple documents into one
Allows reports to look polished and consistent
Has universal file compatibility - opening the same way across clients
Cons
Easier editing of pdf's - the editing process is cumbersome sometimes
Faster performance - big files often lag or freeze
Sometimes compiling is unreliable - certain files won't combine but can be opened which slows down workflow
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Acrobat is well suited for creating one clean report from multiple pdf's and information sources and securing document sharing when applicable. It is less appropriate for document editing and non pdf workflow tasks.

We use Adobe Acrobat for quite literally everything that has to do with a PDF. I work in the Staffing industry so a large part of my day is viewing resumes and editing them, most often in a PDF format. We also work heavily with timesheets, also in a PDF format which needs to be edited quite often. Adobe Acrobat makes both of these functions easy.
Pros
Ease of editing
Makes a document easily viewable
Allows for electronic signatures easily
Converts from PDF to Word in a snap
Cons
The convert to Word function could be a bit better - sometimes you have to click more than once.
The electronic signature function could be improved - despite using the same computer, I find myself having to create a new signature ID most times when signing.

I think Adobe Acrobat is perfectly suited for any business that has a need to view or edit PDFs - there really is not a suitable competitor out there. I genuinely think every industry / business has a need in some capacity where Adobe Acrobat can be applied.
We use Adobe Acrobat for most all of our business functions that require signing or modifying pdfs. We frequently need to sign documents and modify pdf's, and Adobe Acrobat provides the software solution to make that efficient. We are also able pull information easily from PDFs into Word to better edit things.
Pros
Created form templates for paying bills that allows entry and approvals
Easily edit forms required for proposals we submit
Quickly pull information from pdf's into Word for editing
Cons
We find Adobe Acrobat to be a useful solution for our business. The only room for improvement is the cost for a small business.
Likelihood to Recommend
We find Adobe Acrobat to be well suited for creating forms and allowing modification and signatures. We also frequently use it to capture data from pdf's and pull over into Word for easy editing. We often utilize the same forms for different proposals, and Adobe Acrobat allows us to quickly edit and tailor those forms for use in our proposals, saving a ton of time.
Convert documents, signing documents, compiling word documents and reports for environmental evaluations and local jurisdiction CEQA documents.
Pros
Convert
Edit & Finalize
Compress
Cons
Better formatting for Word document and JPEG Conversion
More User Friendly Docusign components

Sometimes it is very hard to use Adobe Acrobat when I have a few different computers and tablets. I'm not a fan of the online software versus the desktop. I wish the two could mix a little better.
We use Adobe Acrobat to combine PDFs, turn images or word documents in PDFs, preview vector designs created in Illustrator, create forms that can be filled in (such as certificates), and more.
Pros
Edit PDFs
Combine Various Filetypes into a Single PDF
Allow a Range of Different Proofreading and Commenting Toolsq
Cons
Allow previewing edited forms to be easier
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well-suited for previewing designs without compromising quality. Formatting is generally kept the same for each individual who views the document. When sent to a client, PDFs look cleaner than other documents, and the interface allows for easy viewing.
We use Acrobat on a daily basis. We prepare a lot of reports in word processing programs that are in turn saved as PDFs in Acrobat to lock down the information. These reports are our end product, as we are a service company, so Acrobat is integril in running our business.
Pros
Preserving information
Signing documents
Providing security for confidential documents
Cons
As we have some very large files, opening and editing these PDFs can be slow and unweildy.
The Fill & Sign tool does not function as well as Docusign nor is it as easy to use.
The Fill & Sign tool sometimes creates error in a document, making it hard for our clients to use.
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe is superior is taking different documents and formats (reports, CAD drawings, maps, spreadsheets) and blending them into one seamless report. However, in doing so, it does re-format some of these items inconsistently, causing more work for the report editor. For example, a map from a cad file might appear three times larger than the proceeding pages from a Word document.

For us is the facto PDF suite. With this software you'll not find any compatibility problem or things that are wrong displayed. If you already used third party tools for editing PDF files you problably know what I mean.
With subscription plans you need an internet connection to install, activate the program, and every year you have to renew your licenses.

Cons

The functionality of Adobe Acrobat DC is great. Moving text from page to page could be a bit easier, but other than that, it's easy to edit. You can easily add or delete pages, and signing documents is also a breeze.
We use Adobe Acrobat DC to edit, organize, and send PDFs for signature. We have used it for several years and it has helped our organization in many ways.
Pros
Editing PDFs
Sending Docs for Signature
Organizing PDF Pages
Cons
Integration with other platforms
Somewhat bulky if you do use other apps for signature
Likelihood to Recommend
Adobe Acrobat DC is easy to use and has a lot of great features for managing multiple types of documents. It may not be appropriate if you are using other docs for signatures, however, it can work depending on how your team is structured. I love how easy Acrobat is to use.
