The use of ActivTrak is incredibly beneficial for organizations that predominantly employ remote workers. ActivTrak addresses the problem of decreased productivity in remote work and also allows us to monitor task completion more closely. My team uses it every week to send reports to upper management and to monitor any new features.

A more detailed explanation is required when updating specific titles within the system. For instance, total time has recently become "screen time". An email notification of this change and its implications would have gone a long way.

When we first signed up with the product, there were different colors to indicate productive vs inactive vs unproductive (or uncategorized) time. The colors were more clear.

ActivTrak should not be used as your only way to measure productivity. While it's good at a glance, it doesn't always tell the whole story of what an employee is doing. I wish it could categorize productive time by the app that was in use. I do find it helpful in identifying training needs or areas where an employee may be less productive.

We track employee productivity, attendence and website usage. ActivTrak alerts us of extended time spent on non-productive websites and inactivity. This has given us that information needed to reward productive staff and help others focus on business priorities. In rare instances we have made staffing changes based on the data.

Tracking remote employees productivity is at the top of the list. Identifying employee phone useage can be problem. The 5 minute breakdown helps give insight to employees that are distracted during the work day. As with any monitoring app the appearance of not trusting employees is a problem and has to be weighed against the benefits to productivity.
