In TrustRadius reviews, ActiveCampaign is primarily utilized for managing and executing email marketing initiatives, with organizations leveraging it for tasks such as weekly newsletters, drip campaigns, and promoting listings. Its robust automation capabilities are a core strength, extending beyond email to various sales, marketing, and customer retention processes. The platform also facilitates highly targeted communication through advanced segmentation and tagging, often integrating CRM functionalities to streamline operations.
Reviewers frequently report a positive impact on sales and revenue, with 4 out of 11 attributing increased conversion rates and earnings to the platform. However, common areas for improvement include a dated or non-user-friendly interface and limited customization options, particularly for form design without custom code. Overall, the platform is seen as a comprehensive marketing automation tool, despite these usability and support considerations.

Advanced segmentation options for highly targeted communication
Positive ROI through increased sales conversion and customer engagement

I use ActiveCampaign as an email marketing solution to monetize my online blog, Shopify store, and membership. It helps me to reach and engage individuals across the world who trust my opinion about the professional cleaning industry.
Pros
Automation
Forms
integration with Stripe
Cons
Pricing structure
Offer cheaper pay options
No coding when creating forms
Likelihood to Recommend
Great automations.
Prices should be more competitive with other platforms such as Convertkit, Flow Desk, Mail Chimp, Mailerlite. Active Campaign has become very robust - but I don't necessarily need all of that.

Executive in Professional Services (1-10 employees)
For Marketing Automations, Database segmentation, integration with our current CRM (we do not use the CRM or pipeline functions in Active Campaign)
Pros
Automations are logical, easy to understand, and build
Tagging is very easy
Importing data and data clean up is simple
Cons
Segmentation is not easy to work with
Reports are too basic, not easy to craft meaningful reports
Campaigns (basically emails) need expanded functionality, or just remove them and force them to be used in automations (even if just simple)
Your new interface for email templates is clunky, and does not accommodate migration from older templates that have been crafted
Your knowledge center is difficult to navigate and often hard to work with (separate platform with login). Consider a portal format as an upgrade path

Less: When legacy CRMs are in place with the org, your API's are less than robust, and Zapier is complicated to use as an alternative. More: Easy to train, visual learning solid, works for scaling operations.
ActiveCampaign has revolutionized our marketing efforts, enhancing campaign performance and efficiency. The automation capabilities streamline customer journeys, enabling personalized communication and boosting conversions. The email marketing tools, with professional templates and segmentation options, empower us to create impactful campaigns. However, using ActiveCampaign for our CRM limits reporting functionality, hindering our analytical needs. Nevertheless, ActiveCampaign remains invaluable for driving marketing performance.

ActiveCampaign has truly revolutionized our marketing, automation but it's missing some robust features preventing us from scaling.
We needed a CRM and email marketing tool with webpage and automation so Active Campaign was the best solution we found. It is price friendly, the customer service is great and it addresses all of our needs as a small organization to get our message out there.
Pros

Marketing - great for emails
Cons
There is limitation with landing pages and custom URLs - www. does not work in front of them
Some things could be more user friendly
When making automations - not all lists or groups or emails always generate

It has been a great experience, it is great they have a nonprofit discount and allow us to use all the great features. It has provided us with great returns on email opens, automations with landing pages and more. Would recommend over and over compared to other big name CRM tools out there.
I use ActiveCampaign to help create a relationship with them after signing on to my list. I use it to grow and maintain a relationship with monthly emails. Keep track of my list and their interest.
Pros
Customer Service
Making a templates from previously sent emails
Info collected on customer
Cons
The window creating an email it's very clunky and I always seem to end up searching for something.
Moving the text boxes around when composing emails can be difficult
Changing the text color and other attributes inside the same paragraph or text box doesn't always stay.

The support was great and I liked the timing feature to release the emails but being able to preview it in various ways is always a nice surprise. Being able to see the workflow for the emails and changing the timing of the release of the campaign is good as well. I would like to be able to find out more info on the emails sent. It seems like whatever I'm trying to do on that screen doesn't work. Yet I always try it and right now can't remember what it is. But I'm always like - dang it. How do I find...
The count of the number of people in the CRM vs how many the email gets sent out to is confusing to me. I don't see any reason why they haven't all entered into the master list to get all the standard emails.
I am thrilled to have ActiveCampaign as a partner for my personal brand. I knew that I needed to build an email list and engage my community. ActiveCampaign was part of several entities that I reviewed based on my needs for marketing automation. I interviewed a number of colleagues who were in similar spaces to identify the pros and cons of different platforms. I also comparison shopped online and evaluated the price to value for each platform. I attended a couple of demos and webinars as well to determine what would be the right fit for me and continue to be glad I chose ActiveCampaign. While it meets my immediate needs, I love that they also offer free coaching to help me get the most out of the system. I'd highly recommend ActiveCampaign.
Pros
Marketing automation is easy and powerful
Integrations with websites and other tools are included and work well
Templates for using the system are easy to use
Cons
Would love to have incremental pricing instead of big tier jumps
Learning about all the features is time-consuming; shorter video tutorials would be great
Some of the features available on other platform are not available on AC

I have ActiveCampaign integrated with my website so I can tag entry points for people and send specific emails based on those tags. I also have it integrated with Calendly so I can see who books a call and what their pathway to me was. There is way more that I could be doing but haven't used all the features yet.
We use ActiveCampaign to send email marketing messages to our followers. Each week we do a live show and the day before we send out reminder emails of the upcoming event and then a final email just before we go live. We also make use of ActiveCampaign to do follow-up funnels for people who subscribe to our list through a lead magnet.
Pros
Nice builder
Great automatisations
Work very well
Cons
Contact filter is not good
Make a better UX on contact page
Make it an application

Use Cases and Deployment Scope; We have used ActiveCampaign for over a year. We use it for customer management and automatic emails. Great functionality and customization. Easy to scale and tailor for large or small data sets. We have only begun using the many features available. Thank you for this application.
I use ActiveCampaign for email automation, landing pages, and forms to capture leads with opt-ins. This helps me create nurture sequences with every new contact added to my list. I use the templates feature when creating emails, which saves me time. I use the tagging feature to segment users based on interests.
Pros
Great customer service with 1:1 calls monthly included with membership.
Integration with other platforms.
User education with help articles.
Cons
The landing page designing could be more user friendly and intuitive.
The form feature sometimes doesn’t format to fit different screens like a phone to desktop or vice versa.

I’m a relatively new user of all technologies and know I’m not utilizing ActiveCampaign’s features even close to what I could be. They regularly send me emails asking and suggesting ways they can help me grow my business, and even remind me to schedule my free calls with them. They also offered a free account review to see where I could be improving my stats and usage. The customer service reps have been very helpful and patient on calls and through text chats.
Our whole business uses ActiveCampaign in all our communication with our customers for newsletters, broadcasts, announcements, events, and offers. ActiveCampaign is such a powerful tool when it comes to communicating in a natural and engaging way with our customers. To our organization's authenticity is important, and with the help of ActiveCampaign, we're able to come across more relatable, thanks to the personalization and other smart features.
Pros
Handle automations like no other service out there.
Is able to create more finely tuned interactions and adjust content based on user interaction.
Superb deliverability. In my experience very few emails go into spam folders thanks to the stellar backend of ActiveCampign
Cons
The automation takes some time to build. There are helpful templates, and yet I find myself wanting to build from scratch which is a bit more complicated.
They recently launched the page builder for landing pages that is good. And I'd like to see the feature improved and receive a facelift to look a bit more modern.

It's by far the most powerful tool for handling our customer communications, and I think the "TAG" function is such an important part of the ecosystem of ActiveCampaign that has helped us stay organized. ActiveCampaign has a highly scalable price plan which makes it perfect for small and large businesses - which is why I always recommend my clients to use ActiveCampaign.
