Pros
Robust and flexible marketing automation capabilities
Effective email marketing with easy template setup and reliable delivery
Advanced segmentation options for highly targeted communication
Positive ROI through increased sales conversion and customer engagement
Facilitates sales funnels and customer journey guidance

I use ActiveCampaign for email drip campaigns primarily. The reason this is important for me is my pipeline can be as long as four plus years. It is important that I remind my list that I am available to help their child when they are somewhere within the 16-26 year mark. That could mean multiple kids within a family will need me when they need me, and it can be anytime within that 10-year span.
Pros
Storing emails to reuse so you don't have to recreate each email with links
Storing pictures so they are always close at hand as needed
Answering my questions quickly when I'm creating a complex email drip
Cons
Integrating with Squarespace
Giving me ideas on other ways I can use AC in my business.
Building emails can take a long time as the program churns to save and retrieve data

ActiveCampaign is dependable and has a ton of functionality. It is great for a company that needs a sales funnel and other more complex processes. I like that there is an option to add on subscribers as you need them. It may not be great for people who do not need all the functions.
I use it for email marketing to my audience. It has worked well for sending customers targeted email sequences, based on their interest. The features and ease of use has been invaluable for growing and engaging my customers and followers. It's been excellent for sending relevant emails that are highly targeted via tags and segmentation.
Pros
Visual Automation Builder
Forms
Advanced Segmentation

Cons
Funnel builder

You can build an automated series that delivers content each day.
You can Use tagging to track engagement (e.g., “Clicked email 3,” or “Did Not Open Day 4”).
You can set up a follow-up sequence for engaged users: “Loved this? Join the full Mastery Pathway.”
For less engaged users, trigger a re-engagement email.

We use Active Campaign to communicate via email with a large customer list to build relationship and to inform them of current offers. We use typical sending features, along with multiple automations and forms to gather information and send notifications and promotional content for various programs and courses offered by our organization.
Pros
Automation building
Email
List organization
Cons
Pricing is a huge issue
They've recently restructured plans and taken features we rely on away from the plan we were on, forcing an upgrade.
Would like the ability to copy/paste or duplicate actions when building automations

Active Campaign is well suited for sending e-mail and setting up automations to deliver items from lead generators. The forms are easy to use, and lists are easy to use with tags. Active Campaign is probably very well suited for a high sales environment. My organization does not heavily use sales funnels or highly customized 1:1 contact communication. Active Campaign has worked well for us even though we are not a high sales environment, however, with the plan restructuring, we lost functionality that now we are forced to pay more for, even though we don't use the other advanced features in the higher plan.
I use ActiveCampaign in my coaching and speaking business to automate my marketing flows when new leads enter my newsletter / system as a lead. I also send monthly newsletter to my audience -- inspirational materials, learnings, updates and more. It's a robust system and I love all the training materials offered, templates, ability to track and tag leads so I can segment folks and track leads and more!
Pros
Automation features that systematize when leads enter my flows
Templates in campaigns that make it easy to send templatized monthly newsletters
Integration with other tools / apps
Cons
Very expensive for small businesses
Took out a lot of useful tools in the lower tiers (used to be available and they just removed it without notification!)
Pretty slow

The strongest value proposition of ActiveCampaign is the tagging, automation and templates. If marketing emails and systems is critical to the business then this is a great tool. It's quite pricey though so not always 'worth it' for smaller businesses who don't 'NEED' a marketing tool that's so robust.
We've been using ActiveCampaign across all our business processes, both B2C and B2B, since 2018. As our business grew, ActiveCampaign grew with us and we started to use an increasing number of features, starting from email marketing and contact management, embedded forms in our websites, CRM and deals management for B2C and B2B, landing pages per product, and an enormous number of automations that link every aspect of this.
Pros
Easy to create Automations
Email Marketing Management
Integration tools with our business
Cons
Forms : there's an opportunity to go 1 step further, offering conditionals and other more complex features
Whatsapp communication: this feature isn't yet usable as a communication tool within ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign is a complete solutions, suitable for both smaller or larger companies, it is an all in one solution for all the sales and marketing areas. It grows along with you. It integrates very effectively with most of the external tools companies use, making ActiveCampaign easily "automatable" to perform your sales and marketing processes.
The principal reason i use ActiveCampaign is because all the automation possibilities, seriously they have the most robust email marketing tool, they have the lemma "Using ActiveCampaign is like having an employee working for you" and that is super true! I use ActiveCampaign to communicate with my leads about monthly online events, and look at this, I just have to change the date event in my automation and all the reminders and important emails will be sending automatically in the correct dates around the date event. I have used almost every email marketing tool that you can find on internet, and trust me, you will not find a really automation tool like ActiveCampaign.
Pros
Automation: That is the power of ActiveCampaign, I personally use forms that once my leads fill, they enter in a very robust automation about an online event, and all the reminders work around that event.
Interface: Although ActiveCampaign be a very robust automation tool, they have a friendly interface that everyone can learn to use in 1 day.
API connection: I use ActiveCampaign with Hotmart, and once a client abandoned my cart, ActiveCampaign send the sequence to remind my client to complete the purchase. Is very ease to use and always work very well!
Cons
Pricing: ActiveCampaign is a very good tool, but the pricing is really high when you are escalating your business. I think that is only the my complaint

The reason why ActiveCampaign is really the best option in the market, is simple, AUTOMATION, when you are able to reduce the hours of work because ActiveCampaign, that is when i realize the price is worth it. - Automation - A very well integration system with almost every platform
I use ActiveCampaign for two main purposes: to automate communication with prospects and customers who engage with my business. This allows me to deliver free and paid content and to inform them of offers and promotions. to send regular informational content to my community, to stay in touch. It is also a way to understand the level and type of engagement of customers who contact me directly.
Pros
Email Automation
Contact tracking
Tagging and segmenting contacts
Integration (via Zapier for me)
Cons
They need to listen to customer requests
Old email editor buggy - new one lacks at leas one key feature
Since the start of 2023: ethics - doubling the cost for legacy users
Likelihood to Recommend
I recommend ActiveCampaign based on its capabilities. But, their business ethics took a big tumble in 2023. They have never been good at listening to customers with some simple user requests (like emailing out invoices) being unanswered for several years. But suddenly dropping a 2x price hike on long-term customers in early 2023 was a nasty move. I would say they are still the best service in terms of functionality and their price remains competitive. But I can no longer say I am happy that I am doing business with AC. It feels like they have taken advantage of their customer base who have been loyal for many years, in a grab for cash. So, if you want the best product for the money, go for ActiveCampaign. Their product is excellent and still, I suspect, the best for a business like mine. But do be prepared for minor niggles and concerns that won't get resolved. And, as 2023 has shown, live with the concern that there may be a sudden huge price-hike once you are deeply committed. Sorry AC. I want to love you, but you have hurt me badly. And your customer service people either didn't care or were briefed to pretend they don't see the issue. I can no longer recommend you.
I use ActiveCampaign for email management, as a CRM and for lead generation through free tools that I offer via email campaigns and landing pages. Being a solopreneur and creator of an independent brand, it is extremely important that I have a touchpoint for my clients, leads, and referrals outside of social media. With ever-changing algorithms and moving targets, ActiveCampaign allows me to reach my audience without being reliant on Instagram or Facebook. The integration with Zapier makes my business logistics nearly seamless and customer support is always willing to help me with any integration issues.
Pros
Contact Management (tags, lists, merges)
Automated Campaigns
Zapier Integration
Sales Funnels
Campaign Creation
Templates
Cons
Template Functionality
Template & Email Formatting
One-Off Emails

I would recommend ActiveCampaign to anyone who describes themselves as 'tech-savvy.' It is well suited for anyone who is wanting a robust system and is willing to figure out how to create a process that works for them (versus having the process already built). It can take some time to figure out the integrations, so it would be helpful for anyone who has a tech background or someone to help them navigate. ActiveCampaign is not good for someone who wants simple, already designed template without add-ons.
I found it a good all-round tool and is easy to integrate with other systems. We use this to capture information from several lead magnets. These clients are then targeted through the automation processes available
Pros
integration
automation
Cons
online UX

I have used many different email marketing tools and this is by far the best. I do not use it for its full potential, as I am sure the CRM tools are easy to manage

Email digest with analytics would be great

ActiveCampaign is well suited for a small organization like ours to help us drive our end to end marketing strategy. It is priced right, and with optimum set of features. Both automated drip campaigns and one time email campaigns are good to use making it well rounded. We use it for our Onboarding campaigns for our coaches and students with separate campaigns. It helps me get analytics over a period of time on how these are performing as well
