Pros

Invoices are being sent electronically without having to use any paper.
Automating AP and AR has improved visibility in spending.
Distributing disbursement to employees and paying vendors on the time improve company trustworthiness.

Cons

Accounting Seed lacks on-premise applications for PC, tablet and smartphone.
Additionally, Accounting Seed is not rich in enterprise features, that is why we integrate it with external applications.

Return on Investment

Business users save time sending payments to suppliers and reimbursing employees since it is just by one click.
The three-way POS match ensures that figures match on orders and invoices before paying suppliers.
Capturing data on reports that are not submitted, approval times, and policy exceptions.
Expense management and time tracking enable us to view the exact time taken to complete projects and the exact amount that should be paid.

Pros

Fully integrated into SalesForce so financial information is linked to all aspects of the organization.
Customer service is excellent and with timely and helpful solutions.
Upgrades are announced well ahead of pushing them out. Accounting Seed handles all the effort. When upgraded, you are assured there are no problems with it continuing to work with your other applications in SalesForce
Being built on the Force.com platform, many applications are available to add to the Accounting Seed application to expand its abilities.
Customization is simple and integrates across all aspects of SalesForce.

Cons

I would love to see more predesigned reports.

Return on Investment

Accounting Seed has been available to use at a reasonable annual cost.
Installation, setup and integration cost were reasonable.
Customization is simple so we do it our selves and saved money not using outside consultants

Pros

When making a deposit for a donation we can tag the account record.
Anyone can recognize donors that are also vendors.
Extracting general ledger detail is accurate and easy - allowing us to ensure the GL matches revenue detail from donations, box office and education.
Budgeting is actually pretty nimble now that I am using it more.

Cons

Custom reporting seems cumbersome, but it could just be that we need better instructions, more examples, maybe some more canned reports. My company needs the ability to compare multiple years, and more than one budget in a report - we start with an approved board budget and then we reproject each quarter.
Non profits need to print financials by restriction level - this has also been very awkward - all the data is there but I have to piece it together in an excel spreadsheet every time I want it.
In general, the materials needed for non profits is not as accessible as it could be.

Return on Investment

We are too soon into the process to answer this. Our year end is June 30 and our audit will take place in July and August, with completion in October. I am very happy with the program and look forward to the next year being more efficient with my time, but I cannot determine an ROI benefit at this point.

Pros

Ability to create custom reports on the fly.
Sharing/flowing information across Salesforce project pages.
My favorite, saving tons of time by having all information in one location, not having to stop and compare Salesforce reports to a separate accounting program reports.

Cons

Sometimes when creating a receipt it can't seem to find the company I am searching for in the drop-down, I have to go out to the company and enter from there.
Some of the accounting reports seem to be limited, though at times this may just be the user! Still learning as I go! But there have been some reports that state I would need to add another partner app to do, which would mean more cost.

Return on Investment

It has saved us many man hours on data entry, reporting, filing, printing.
It has saved our mental states because we are not having to jump from one program to another, since everything is in one convenient location.
We have improved communication of information on the state of jobs, etc., throughout the company as the information flows back and forth between Salesforce and Accounting Seed depending on the links you have set up.
