We use Absorb LMS to deliver compliance and skills training. The system supports eLearning as well as instructor led courses. We chose Absorb LMS because it provides access for our field based employees, and has an easy to navigate user interface. Administration is straightforward, and while a little click heavy, fairly intuitive and very easy to learn.
We have 3,500 users who are a combination of field and office based employees in the US and Canada.

Our integration experience was very well managed. We launched on-time, and only had to do basic end-user training because the system is very user friendly and intuitive to use.
The customer support is exceptional, we have an assigned Customer Success Manager we meet with and talk to regularly. They are very responsive and have helped us optimize our processes to get the most out of the system.
Because the system is easy to use, we have very few user issues or tickets we have to support. 90% of user problems are resolved by using the FAQs we provided when we launched the system.

We mainly use Absorb LMS for compliance and manager training, and it’s been a great tool for us. It’s easy to use and very user-friendly, both for managers and employees. One of the best things about it is how it uses AI to save time. It helps us create courses and quizzes quickly, and it can even handle everyday admin tasks, which takes a lot off our plates. The system also gives smart course suggestions to employees based on what they’re interested in and how they’re doing, which helps keep them on track with their goals.

  • The reminder feature for training modules does not seem to work properly.
  • The prompts for how to add your own content should be a little clearer. The pictures are nice but sometimes it's trial and error picking the correct options to add videos, slides, etc.
  • The filter feature can be updated to be more user-friendly. Sometimes I know I uploaded something and can't find it when I try to filter the offerings.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use it for compliance training for all our staff. It allows for easy tracking and reporting. We also use it for our manager training. We host HR related topics via a live webinar and then we upload the content to Absorb LMS so that people who may have missed the live webinar, can access at their leisure.
I think it's less appropriate for our staff to look through the library and pick their own courses since there are so many to choose from. I think managers and/or HR should curate a course plan and then allow employees to access it.

We use Absorb LMS mainly as a customer and partner enablement system for product training and resource library, but also for employee onboarding.

We don't use it for generic employee learning and development.

  • When clicking the links between modules (e.g. Learner Experience, Admin Experience, Create, etc) they don't open in new tabs.
  • Question types for Knowledge Checks are different from final quizzes

LMS In Our Restaurant Group

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a restaurant that struggled with communication during training. It became a game of telephone where one training would vary in steps to service being communicated. Using Absorb LMS has eliminated that game and cleared our lines of communication. Now, every team member receives the same information and clear steps are set in place. Using videos and other resources clearly shows them our expectations. Users are able to move at their own pace and master one skill before moving to the next. Our LMS makes learning easy and fun for the learner where they're learning information that will help our company increase our retention goals and boost our overall sales figures by creating a memorable experience for each and every guest that walks thru our doors.

Absorb LMS allows us to easily house, track, and manage all of our teams learning in one place, and bolter our training and development initiatives by strategically utilizing Absorb Amplify courses alongside our in-house content.

Pros

  • Clean, intuitive user UI.
  • Snappy admin and reporting experience.
  • Lots of template customization.

Cons

  • Default reports lack useful refinements (like date range) for a lot of reports.
  • Parent department names aren't able to be pulled in for everyday reporting.
  • The ADP Integration lacks access to many standard fields, lacks basic logic capabilities for data mapping, and cannot sync users from multiple ADP instances. It also only feeds back competency data, not the training and certification fields.
  • Information about pricing for upgrades is closely guarded, meaning there's no way of knowing which sales conversations are even worth pursuing. Having at least baseline prices (before discounts for plan level) would help immensely. It's hard to get a quick quote for literally anything you're considering.

If a company is of a decent size, has a straightforward HRM setup, and is willing to invest the money in Absorb Amplify, Absorb LMS is a good value.

Absorb LMS manages our training on required Quality Management System training as well as tracking required industry training. It has enabled us to customize and personalize our training experience, which in turn, has empowered and motivated our team and has improved overall training compliance. Our managers have clearer and immediate insight into each team members training completion and overall compliance.

My experience with Absorb LMS has been very positive. From the beginning, the system was very easy to configure and set up. The options for internally created trainings have been robust, especially as it pertains to "quizzes" to test users. Additionally, importing existing SCORM trainings or internally recorded trainings has been relatively easy.

We use the Absorb LMS system to onboard our Homeowner Candidates into our Homeowner program, which has regular cycles through the year. HOCs are required to complete a certain amount of "Sweat Equity" hours, which is enabled by the LMS system. The system has allowed us to streamline our courses, as well as all reporting on the outcomes.
