Considered Both Products
Microsoft Teams
Chose Microsoft Teams
I think Microsoft Teams is much more user friendly and has more features.
Chose Microsoft Teams
Teams is generally better and has a more professional "feel" than Skype, Google Meet, or Zoom.
With Teams, access control is less easily managed than with Skype, Google Meet, or Zoom.
Teams has better internal security than Zoom. I have never been "bombed" on Teams, whereas …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Team is one of Microsoft's newest applications. Looking at the evolution of the Office suite, I can only imagine what Team will become with the next updates. It's a product that fills a need and has a lot of possibilities to evolve well. I would put it right in the …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Zoom is not bad either but having a collaboration feature and file sharing, teams have the edge over Zoom.
Chose Microsoft Teams
The Teamwork was introduced to the company earlier. Sr. Management pulled training sessions through marketing and digital advertising department. Most of the company's projects were posted on the Teamwork. It is the company's project management space. If Microsoft Teams …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Zoom was mostly used for overseas meetings upon customer request.
Chose Microsoft Teams
For me, Teams is also very useful and very user friendly just like the others.
Chose Microsoft Teams
As mentioned, Microsoft Teams [has] been our way of communication since the start of the pandemic. We've been using this and so far it never fails us and even exceeds our expectations. The scheduling and meeting notification is very helpful [for] reminders, especially for days …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Microsoft teams provide better customer support and seamless screen sharing. It provides good audio and video quality even in low networks. Even it can be integrated with other Microsoft software like outlook and office, which made our life easy. Its UI is very simple and can …
Chose Microsoft Teams
We used a very old version of Lifesize. Microsoft Teams is more modern, so this is not really a fair comparison. Teams does the same and so much more! Again, being part of the Office 365 E3 offering meant we had it available anyway.
Chose Microsoft Teams
It's hard to think of an app that doesn't do a better job at video conferencing than Microsoft Teams. Zoom, Skype, and Webex are the three I'm most familiar with. All three provide far more stabilization, better screen sharing options, better chat functions, and are less …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams seems to be on par with Zoom and Google Meetings as far as meetings and discussions go, but it seems to be superior to the other platforms as far as document sharing and collaboration go.
Chose Microsoft Teams
  • Easier video calls with colleagues compared to WebEx
  • Easy to use when combined with other Microsoft products
  • A light platform which loads easily compared to other tools. It thus doesn't use much bandwidth.
Chose Microsoft Teams
We didn't really evaluate any platforms like Microsoft Teams. It was really replacing the multiple systems we were using prior to the Teams implementation including Skype for Business, OneNote, and manually sending documents back and forth. Microsoft Teams has cut down on the …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Nothing does all of this. This is very nice if you're already invested in lots of Microsoft stuff (as most big organizations are). I'm honestly a little confused what's going on with Skype for Business since Teams seems to accomplish relatively the same thing, but with MUCH …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Slack is a little more user-friendly and has way more integrations. For example, we use Gmail, and Google products don't integrate with Microsoft Teams, so we lost that functionality. But Slack is also really expensive, and Microsoft Teams has a much better free plan. It's a …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Teams does a much better job of having all tools readily available. It allows use across other platforms and communication with those outside of my organization as well.
Chose Microsoft Teams
As a Microsoft Office user for 12+ years, Microsoft has done a lot to innovate their productivity platform. In particular, Office 365 has tons of differentiated value:

  • Unlimited upgrade rights to the latest versions is very impressive as no other types of productivity software …
Chose Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is much better than WebEx for connectivity and slightly better than Zoom.
Chose Microsoft Teams
We had thought it might work well to replace Slack (already in use) and Zoom for video conferencing. It may have made an adequate replacement for Slack, especially with the superior integration with SharePoint provided in Teams. However, the video conference tool from Teams is …
Zoom Workplace
Chose Zoom Workplace
We prefer Slack for interoffice communications. We find it more convenient, easier to use, and more customizable. Administration is pretty easy too. We utilize Microsoft Teams otherwise, as we are a Microsoft shop and integrating Teams is easier when we are already heavily …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I believe it is a great contender for a video and audio calling platform. We selected it due to the need for a more flexible option over using Microsoft Teams. It is difficult to join a Teams call if you do not already have a Microsoft account setup, whereas with Zoom Workplace …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is less resource-intensive compared to Microsoft Teams. Slack appears very basic and does not have the app offerings that Zoom boasts. I've also encountered a significant amount of audio issues when using Slack to conduct meetings. Zoom has found its niche and …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Although, my co-workers have used the Microsoft Teams, I have not experienced using Microsoft Teams as of yet. However, I am not apposed to using Microsoft Teams. I rather enjoy using Zoom Workplace as I find it to be user friendly and we have a lot of non-tech savvy employees. …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom has a very friendly UI that allows any kind of people to easily use the application, it has a light design but with all the necessary features without overflooding the options. Zoom has great stability and great performance among other counterparts making this a very …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is cheaper and easy to use than other tools.
Chose Zoom Workplace
I feel, Zoom Workplace stands out for its superior video conferencing and meeting features, making it ideal for large meetings and webinars. While Slack and Teams excel in messaging and collaboration, Zoom is more user-friendly for video communication. It integrates well with …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is certainly the superior product, but MS Teams gives it a run for its money due to all of the AI integrated features that MS CoPilot has added to the entire MS Office product portfolio. If Zoom added more AI features, and possibly something similar to ZoomInfo …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We use Microsoft 365 for everything we do as a company. Except for video communication. For that we use Zoom Workplace, even though Teams is integrated into our other Microsoft products. We found Teams difficult to use and buggy, whereas Zoom Workplace always just works. It is …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We still use both side by side. We tend to use Zoom for external calls and teams for internal calls
Chose Zoom Workplace
To have all of the tools and features within one application makes it much easier to on-board new employees, acclimate, and manage. To split features across different platforms is cumbersome to manage and costs much more.
Chose Zoom Workplace
It's better for group conversations, and it's more reliable. And everyone has it.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is much more user friendly and easy to use it is also better generally at consistently working well when needed.
Chose Zoom Workplace
We used Dialpad and Teams previously and both were fine. When we were looking at scheduling software, we looked at Calendly. Ultimately, it was cheaper to use Zoom Workplace for phone, video and scheduling and we really liked our Zoom Workplace support team. Calendly and Zoom …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We actively use both to accomodate the audience/attendees. Zoom Workplace is much better for large groups.
Chose Zoom Workplace
easier to use and navigate, more reliable, better call recording
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace doesn't necessitate a cumbersome download and is generally easy to navigate and utilize.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Features are more roboust.
The price is comparable based on the features.
Integration has more options. SOme of the competitors just limit you to their software/products only.
Chose Zoom Workplace
The only reason I am allowed to use Zoom Workplace (the company requires Teams) is because of the breakout rooms
Chose Zoom Workplace
In my opinion, Zoom Workplace has far more capabilities than Teams and much better and more robust functionality. It allows for intuitive reporting, and is a very reliable platform. We’ve also found it easier to use, especially for members of our team who might not be as …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I think Zoom Workplace is about equivalent to the Webex suite. However, Microsoft has the edge due to the breadth of capabilities packaged with Microsoft 365/Entra.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is equal in parity to all of the tools mentioned above at a bare minimum, and for some of them it goes above and beyond - for video conferencing, Zoom is well past Meet and Teams. It's less obtrusive than Teams on a PC, and it doesn't strain older hardware like Meet does.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Teams is much better and included in our MS license.
Chose Zoom Workplace
I prefer Zoom to the other programs I've used for the customer interface and ease of use and the ability to schedule and record meetings.

Positive: The virtual workspace created for a work team within the same company, for the resemblance of information and communications in one place.Negative: The access for members of a non-profit organization who have external emails from the host but need the same access as an internal person since their volunteer work is part of the very core of the federation.

Integration with other products and the AI summaries have been huge wins for Zoom Workplace in our organization. They have been life changing for our team. Also, being able to make and receive calls from our cell phones rather than have to give out personal cell phone numbers has been wildly successful with our attorneys.

Pros
Microsoft
  • Virtual meetings - ease of set up and execution
  • File sharing! We build channels for projects, and being able to invite only project members is huge!
  • Peer-to-peer communications - being able to "ping" one of my colleagues, either text, video or call-only, on-demand, is what runs our business.

  • I love how easy it is to set the focus on the presenter. It is annoying when people don't spotlight themselves as a presenter, so you get to see the whole gallery of attendees in smaller, two-inch windows.
  • I like the capability of having break-out rooms. Even though I don't use them very often, it is nice to have them available if the right situation presents itself for smaller group chats.
  • The recording quality is better than I have experienced with other products (Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.), and the fact that it is already an MP4, so I don't have to convert it for publishing on our intranet is huge to me.

Cons
Microsoft
  • The feature of notifications in the mobile application could be improved. Sometimes notifications of different teams are not visible and are only visible when the application is opened.
  • It uses lots of computational resources while running and thus, slows down the system sometimes.
  • It allows a few channels per team. The number of channels could be increased for better productivity.

Zoom
  • Love notes - allow insertion of table or grid
  • Allow admin to turn off DND
  • Allow a way to group individual people chats - not channels just individual peeps into groups for ease of finding - like how you can group shared calendars into sections in Outlook

We're sticking with Zoom for the foreseeable future--given its compelling feature set, ease of use, and advanced technology, there's just no other competition to be excited about. Plus it's a Gartner-recognized industry leader, so it's a rather easy choice.

Usability
Microsoft
User experience has been much better than the previous Skype for Business app. It has an easy-to-use interface with persistent chats. The search feature is very fast and useful. MS Teams has mostly focused on Collaboration and team building features which are very useful for organizational communications. Since Teams is accessible from multiple platforms like Laptop, Desktop, Mobile phones, etc it has been very convenient from a Mobility perspective.

Zoom is made for the non tech office. It has features that can be made to do what you need to run things on a day to day basis. Immediately we we able to get meetings going with remote employees. Zoom has among the best performance of any video conference platform, as I've mentioned several times. Besides that, their Chat platform works great, and their back end always runs smooth. It's unfortunate that reporting can now only be done by one month at a time, but nonetheless, it only takes a second to run any kind of Zoom report, whether it's an attendee report, Poll results, a user report, a list of meetings from the past month, etc.

Support Rating
Microsoft
Using Microsoft Teams has resulted in much faster business communications with both co-workers and consultants. There has been little need for support with this software as the interface is very intuitive and the product is overall very well designed. We did encounter an issue with the built-in phone service, however, this was quickly resolved by the support team.

Because I got a response right away, and was assigned one specific individual to work with me from the beginning to the resolution. I had an actual email address and direct contact with this person without having to start over and over every time I contacted Zoom - this singular individual remained attentive and was well informed on the subject matter and quite able to resolve my needs.

Microsoft
Our company and IT department previously used Skype for our communication needs. Skype was not dependable in my opinion, because it seems each time I used it during a call and/or a meeting, I and several other team members would get disconnected more than once. This caused a great interruption of our meeting, caused team members to have to ask others to repeat themselves and caused a general lack of interest in employee attendance during meetings.

Zoom Workplace is typically on the more expensive end against other options, but it's the industry leader for a reason. It has the most brand credibility by far, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. There are limitations when it comes to technical performance, customization and video/audio quality. I prefer Slack myself for communication apps, but Zoom Workplace is a good alternative.

Honestly, this tool is worth every penny. Yes, it's not free and you pay for the quality of services and the license. But the ROI and the benefits are all there. Also, the renewal, negotiation, and contract terms are all very well explained by our Microsoft account manager, and she's a charm.

The billing and price model is really fair for so many functions that they offer, our remote work requires each of the features that Zoom offers, so accepting payment for a tool like this is the least we can do. I like that billing arrives on time and that they offer opportunities and payment times.

Because the Basic licenses are completely free, and because it's very easy to configure and install Zoom, and because anyone can join Zoom from a link without needing an account, scaling is a Breeze. There are absolutely no roadblocks. My company keeps adding more Zoom Pro license every week since it's so in demand. We were able to convert users from several different platforms onto Zoom with no trouble at all.
