Rubicon Project is super appropriate for Publisher monetization. They excel as a supply side partner. Rubicon Project is less appropriate for Advertising buying tools. Their demand side tools have a way to go for development.
TubeMogul is a great video demand site platform. Transparency is something they do well within the dashboard; you can look for very specific details to see what sites your advertisement is being served on as well as a slew of KPIs to measure your campaign. If you're looking for high quality sites, I would look at another company.
Cleanest supply ecosystem. They are skilled at processing inventory and bids in order to streamline monetization and drive yield.
Client support is excellent. Client services is deeply invested in your business and successful at driving key business goals within your organization when working on your behalf.
I am not aware of the reasons to cancel a certain platform, but if we were i'd assume it's because of the missing features, lack of quality inventory and brand safety measures. I assume the contact would be renewed if above-mentioned reasons changed
Between the two platforms for similarly targeted campaigns, I have not seen any real difference in metrics like click through rate and completion rate. When stacking on a viewability threshold, DoubleClick tends to scale a bit better than TubeMogul. While I am a HUGE Google products fan, I have to say TubeMogul's Optimization Goals feature is awesome and something DoubleClick does not have. The ability to prioritize your goals is a huge plus. Coming from an agency, ensuring delivery usually is king. Having the ability to then tack on your viewability, CPM/CPC, completion rate, CTR, CPA, site diversity preference goals is awesome
Rubicon Project has made it easier to optimize so that we could get the fullest ROI on our inventory through their alerts on which deal needs troubleshooting.
They also send a daily report which notifies you which advertisers have low render rate which is very helpful when figuring which creatives need to troubleshooting.
