Infegy Atlas works best when analyzing large datasets - this means it is ideal for large clients, or topics upon which there is a significant volume of discussion. For smaller clients or niche topics, it can be challenging to produce a quantity of data that makes Atlas' analysis valuable. This challenge is common to all monitoring/analysis platforms, however; it's not exclusive to Atlas.
In my use of [NetBase] Quid, I found the tool particularly suitable for curating pertinent content. It allowed me to develop more comprehensive analysis at a larger scale, all while substantially reducing the amount of research time needed. It is also a plus that [NetBase] Quid is delivered as a web app. I did some of my [NetBase] Quid work on a low-end Chromebook without issues.
Natural Language Processing: If the point of social media analysis is to understand large volumes of text that you can't read yourself, then the automated analysis is key to this. Netbase is the best that we have seen in the market, and this is the cornerstone of the product for us.
Dashboard design: Past tools we have used have involved pulling data from the tool, analysing and charting in (typically) Excel, then putting together into a Powerpoint presentation to share with clients & colleagues. Netbase's dashboard tools enable reports to be templated and generated as PDFs. Cutting out large chunks of manual administrative work means that more reports can be delivered more frequently with no added time/cost at our and.
Customer support - although we are UK-based and the Netbase support staff are primarily US-based, we have found their support staff to be fast, responsive and very helpful.
It's a little buggy sometimes, but 90% of the time it's great. This is an issue they're aware of and are working on.
The query interface is awesome except for past queries you've entered. Other tools, like NetBase, have a much better system for tagging and sorting past queries so you can save them for projects. Infegy is working on this as well, I'm told.
Like any space that is constantly changing, they are behind in a couple areas - such as minute-by-minute analysis (which Brandwatch can do), and integration with other major platforms that are non-US-centric, like Weibo (which Brandwatch has), and more sentiment-ready languages (Infegy has 6, NetBase has 9). But in every other factor they are far ahead.
Atlas is reasonably-priced and provides excellent value compared to other enterprise tools in the same space. Moreover, we have an excellent relationship with the Infegy team and are consistently impressed with the high quality of support they provide.
We've had a good experience using the tool and have invested quite a bit of time training the internal team on how to get the most benefit out of it. There would need to be a compelling reason or business case to port over all of our existing topics and tool know-how to another platform.
Very simple to use, quick to pick up on the key principles, and a task-centric design (ie. Topics to set up what you want to analyze, Analysis to do the exploration/analysis, and Dashboards to pull results and findings together to generate reports.) All intuitive, drag & drop etc.
NetBase constantly updates the platform with features. The platforms ability to analyze complex social listening topics is exceptional. Its fast and gives you the ability to create standardized reports for a quick topic analysis. Additionally, the standard overview tab provides the topic at a glance and assists in quickly identifying areas to further analyze. Great product with excellent support behind it!
We had an internal implementation meeting with the NetBase team as well as a business seat implementation for one of our clients. I would highly recommend having all stakeholders attend an implementation meeting as they can understand the power of this platform.
We did a deep, thorough survey of each of these tools. Some of my earlier answers have covered the distinction. I would rank the top 5: Infegy Atlas NetBase Synthesio Brandwatch DataRank Part of it is current capabilities, of course, but a big part of it is product direction. Some of these tools do not value Natural Language Processing NEARLY enough, and do not do real work to build NLP based on actual Linguistic Theory (which is surprisingly scientific, by the way), so they just do a little to monitor volume and pretty poor sentiment, call it social listening, and deliver it to enterprise clients. This is true of Radian6, Meltwater, Visible Technologies (which was acquired by Cision recently, hence its inclusion here). Of course, my list above is the enterprise level top 5. If you're looking for small biz solutions check out Mention (formerly social mention) or NUVI if you can scale to the bottom of their tiers.
NetBase provides a higher degree of accuracy and more flexibility to control the analysis (filtering, etc) in the platform. The platform is also very user-friendly and doesn't have a steep learning curve. The NLP is powerful and provides deeper insights into sentiment, behaviors and opinions compared to other platforms that are very topical and less user-friendly.
Positive - NetBase allows us to quickly gather a high level over view of a topic, which helps for new business pitch and being able to inform the account teams of basic information.
Negative - We have to use other tools to gather news, which affects our budget.
