Overall Satisfaction with Webexpenses

I use Webexpenses for business expenses incurred while traveling on behalf of the company. This is entirely for reimbursement of my own travel expenses which I charge to my personal credit card, including airfare, hotels, rental cars, parking, gasoline, meals, etc. Webexpenses allows employees to make their own travel arrangements and enjoy the benefits and flexibility of being in control of their own itinerary.

Pros

  • Links well with mobile app.
  • Provides for easy upload of receipts.
  • Streamlines the approval process.

Cons

  • Mislabels valid different expenses as potential duplicates, seemingly based on having a matching date and dollar amount.
  • The drop down to select the expense type is annoying: requires extra clicks to get to the full list before it can be searched.
  • Sometimes the mobile app gets out of sync and has to be restarted.
  • Simplifies management of employee expenses and reimbursement.
Overall, it is fairly intuitive and user-friendly, but there are some things that could be streamlined or improved.
For me, Webexpenses is slightly better than Concur, but I was not involved in selecting it over Concur.

Yes

It is well suited to employees who travel, and can be learned relatively easily if you use it regularly. For employees who travel infrequently or only use it to expense other things (supplies, tools, etc), it can be a little more difficult to figure out. Maybe giving more tooltips or a built-in tutorial could help.
