Overall Satisfaction with Webex Meetings

We use Cisco Webex Meetings across the entire organisation to enable collaboration between geographically disparate teams. It allows us to have voice and video conference calls, screen sharing, and instant messaging chats between team members who are working from home and team members working in the office, and also team members who work in different regions and even countries. We also use Cisco Webex Meetings in our physical office conference rooms, to provide a telephony and video conferencing solution that supports meetings between physically co-located employees and remotely located employees.

Pros

  • Telephony conferencing
  • Video conferencing
  • Screen sharing
  • Instant messaging chat

Cons

  • Has high CPU and memory usage
  • Has high network bandwidth usage
  • Requires low network latency otherwise voice and video quality suffers
  • Enabled better collaboration with remote and local team members.
  • Enabled easier communication between employees and external parties.
  • Enabled a software telephony solution replacing the need for physical desk phones.
  • Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Cisco Webex Meetings integrates seamlessly with the Cisco conferencing devices we already had in our physical office meeting rooms and conference rooms, letting us easily support meetings with a mix of physically colocated participants and remotely located participants. It is easy to use, and provides great voice and video quality when the network bandwidth and latency allows.

Cisco Webex Meetings is a great solution for virtual telephony and video conferencing, it provides excellent video and voice quality, support for virtual whiteboards, screen sharing, chat, Q&A, audience polling, all of which adds up to an all in one solution for collaboration with both local and remote participants.
Cisco Webex Meetings was proven to scale with the pandemic and our organisation implementing a sudden mandatory work from home policy for all knowledge workers for a year, where suddenly all of our within and across team collaboration needed to happen remotely, and the Webex solution scaled to support this sudden increase in usage across our entire organisation.
Cisco Webex Meeting's performance could be improved, as it is very CPU, GPU, and memory hungry, and our organisation's employee computer device fleet is compised with a majority of aging Dell laptops that are now about 5 years old. When running a meeting that includes many video streams from participants, these aging devices really struggle to keep up. It would be better if Webex adjusted the CPU and GPU and memory requirements to better suit the device it is running on, such as reducing the quality and refresh rate of non-main video streams.
Cisco Webex Meetings is well suited for telephony and video conferencing with remote meeting participants and integrates well with physical conferencing devices in office conference rooms. This lets us run meetings and presentations with meeting participants mixed between being physically colocated and remotely located. It also lets us record the meetings and presentations which provides team members that were not able to join the meeting when it was scheduled to still be able to consume the meeting or presentation content at a time more suitable to them.
