Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform Foundation

Currently I use Veeam to do a daily backup of our EHR server, as well as maintaining replication at 15 minute intervals.

Pros

  • Maintaining backups with restore points
  • Consistently performing replication on a set schedule
  • Notification options

Cons

  • Need a way to schedule individual days/times to skip backup/replication along as exceptions to the normal schedule

  • As this free version of Veeam replaced another product that would cost us thousands to upgrade, it's a pretty good deal. Even the paid version will be a vast improvement.
  • Knowing we can recover quickly from a server failure is a big bonus.
This works great for my needs. Currently using it for one server. Considering using it to manage replication for the rest of my virtual machines.
