Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam as our primary backup solution to back up VMs, SMB shares, and specific workstations. Recently, we have moved to Nutanix AHV while still using our old VMware system. Veeam has been able to be used for both making backup mgmt seamless and easy to administer, particularly for our cloud backups.

Alternatives Considered

AWS Backup

AWS is, in my opinion, the best giant cloud provider as it's kinda the company that set the terminology. Given the truly vast amount of functionality it offers, it's clear that using the proprietary option for backing up buckets and containers is AWS Backup. Veeam cannot fully copy these jobs simply because they are on AWS and plug into AWS.

To begin, Veeam is the most well-known backup solution. Aomei and the like really have nothing that can fully compare to it. So when asked, I will, of course, recommend the name brand Veeam. Other than that, it is remarkably simple to set up and to use. Integrating with pretty much all storage providers as well. It's quite robust.
