Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365

Our organization uses Microsoft Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 to back up and recover our Microsoft 365 Tenant. We did not back up the M365 application data for MS Exchange, Sharepoint, MS Teams, and One Drive earlier, and there was a risk associated with data loss for these MS 365 applications. Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 helped us to mitigate that risk.

  • Selective Email Recovery Possible.

Cons

  • Each Application Has Different Restore Explorers.
  • Limited Backup Functionality for MS Teams.
  • Bulk Mailbox Restore to Alternate Location.
  • Minimizes Business Downtime.
  • Reduces Legal Risk & Cost due to Compliance/Regulatory Issues.
  • Steep Learning Curve.
Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 has a nice Administrative Console to Create Backups, Add/Edit Organizations, and other Configuration Options. One can easily select the Restore point to recover data using the UI. Separate Restore Explorers are provided for MS Exchange, MS One Drive for businesses, and MS Teams.
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is another good option similar to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. It provides better built-in Cyber Security features than Veeam's product. However, the Technical Documentation and Support of Veam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 seems much better than that of Acronis.
We have contacted support for Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 using the Veeam Support portal. We open a case ticket on their support site and assign a priority based on the severity of our issue. The support team usually responds promptly and corresponds via emails or meetings. They sometimes ask us to collect the relevant logs and attach them to the case for further research. So, the whole process is streamlined.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsft 365 is best suited for organizations that need to back up and recover their critical data to reduce the risk of data loss. It is also helpful for organizations that want to keep Microsoft 365 Application data for compliance and regulatory purposes. It might not be suitable for organizations that seek low-cost solutions.
