Veeam Backup & Replication
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use it for backups and replication of new clusters - daily backups, tape backups, and backups of remote sites. We typically use this to restore file level deletions that may happen by accident and that has been our bread and butter for our backup and restore process that has been very helpful to our end users.
Pros
- Recovery!
- Replication!
- Usability
- File Level Restore
- Ability to make system tunings
Cons
- Automated scripting with UPS to hault backups if UPS is too low to provide power
- More AI integration
- Less Service Driven for Faster Application Startup
- Fix problems automatically if a restore chain is corrupted somehow
- It has reassured us that we have a reliable software for managing backups
- Veeam is super easy to use so it is not stressful
- Has had us back up and running very quickly when a VM died
Veeam is a night and day difference between our older backup system. Veeam allows us to do daily incremental backups and adjust many settings that allow daily operations to continue without fear of backups slowing things down. Not only is veeam a great replacement but they continue to innovate and provide an extremely secure product.
