Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

We use Veeam Backup & Replication to back up the virtual server system infrastructure of approximately 10 systems in our organization. Our priority is to back up the static data of our existing system infrastructure and constantly updated databases, and to control them automatically, ensuring that we IT employees sleep comfortably.

Pros

  • Veeam is very simple interface.
  • Easy and useful backup and restore management.
  • The strength is that it operates stably.
  • Useful reports and notifications.

Cons

  • I have read that you can do a better job with the 11 version on the instant copy side compared to its competitors, we look forward to it.
  • Management and dashboard side can also be improved via vCenter.
  • The price may be a little more affordable.
  • The number of languages it supports may increase.
  • It has a cost-saving effect because the cloud side and tape side are more cost effective than backups resting on traditional NAS systems.
  • Thanks to the automation scenarios, it is not necessary to allocate an extra personnel to perform operations such as taking backups, controlling and reporting. This again reduces the cost.
We used Zerto and CA Arcserve to address these needs without migrating to Veeam Backup & Replication. Zerto is a very successful instant backup and we are still using it now. It does what Veeam application cannot do in instant replication. CA Arcserve, on the other hand, is clearly lagging behind the Veeam Backup & Replication product and does not meet today's requirements.
I recommend Veeam Backup & Replication software to those around me who do this professionally. Because the Veeam Backup & Replication application is a proven product. Taking daily backups, automating them within themselves, providing and reporting controls can be carried out in very simple steps. If you are considering instant backup, you have to wait a little longer for this.

Yes - We uninstalled CA Arcserve Backup & Replication and installed Veeam Backup & Replication because CA Arcserve did not actually work in the scenario we wanted.
