Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

It is currently being used to back up our VMware infrastructure which includes our production VMs.

Pros

  • Ease of use
  • Single pane of glass for backups

Cons

  • When success emails get sent it would be nice to know what backup was successful. Was it full or incremental, for example?
  • We currently have not purchased Veeam and are using the Community Edition. Our ROI would not be accurate due to this.
We were using Storagecraft ShadowProtect prior to coming over to Veeam. It was a real headache on managing incremental backups forever and we had to utilize multiple tools to get the same performance and insight that Veeam gives you in one tool.
I feel like it really shines on the virtualization side. If you don't have a virtual environment I feel like the implementation may be a little different.
