Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
TeamViewer allows us to access thousands of devices spread across a huge geographic area with excellent responsiveness. If there's a change we need to make on a server on-site in a closet 500 miles away, we can quickly jump in and immediately make it without needing a complex setup with multiple VPNs or vulnerable ports open.
Pros
- The responsiveness is amazing. While you won't be doing FPS gaming over the connection, you could easily do your normal browsing and emailing.
- Setup is simple and doesn't require extensive network changes.
- TeamViewer can run on any computer platform and be accessed from any platform, including mobile.
Cons
- Pricing is evolving and while still one of the best deals, has gone up for certain user/device counts.
- If you use TeamViewer personally, it may conflict if you use it with a business license.
- Occasionally gets stuck in certain environments in an unresponsive state, usually on MacOS.
- It's much less expensive than our previous remote access tool
- It's much easier to set up and requires less time to manage
- Sessions are generally more reliable and require less time troubleshooting
TeamViewer was a far better value and in our testing actually performed better generally, especially when it came to live sound transfer and just overall mouse responsiveness and screen quality. It also has a bunch of other features that we'd have to otherwise pay for separately with a different remote access tool.
