Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Integration Suite to integrate SaaS applications with SAP S/4 HANA environment. It helps us to avoid any direct point-to-point integrations and avoid any security risks.

Pros and Cons

Pros

CPI integrations using iFlows were easy to develop.
Non-SAP ERP integration for OnHand inventory utilizing CPI.
Any of Apigee integrations we have is via CPI.

Cons

Considering large data/volume handling via CPI.
Std. way of setting up email alert notifications in CPI is needed.
CPI iFlow should have email alert suppression capability which currently we are building it as a custom. This is already available in PI/PO alert job definition.

Return on Investment

Definitely its having positive impact, as one example I mentioned about onboarding customers so that they can start placing orders without long wait time.

We have many integrations flowing through CPI for both inbound and outbound functions. Example would be, sending material, customer master data information. The Business Partner replication information developed using std. API's in iFlows helped us to design "Customer" integration well. This helped us to improve customer onboarding into our organization business and start placing orders in short turn around time.
