Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

We utilize SAP Analytics Cloud to produce our financial reports - our stories have been designed to leverage input controls and allow users to slice & dice capability, which would have meant several duplicative reports in our predecessor system. We also use SAC to produce dashboards and KPIs for Accounts Payable, Treasury, and FP&A.

Cons

  • Blending - Significant loss of features once blending is introduced
  • Data Modeling Transformations - absent DWC, no ability to construct simple joins of multiple data sources at model level
  • Process insights - Invoice exception metrics
  • Efficiencies in excel file construction
SAP Analytics Cloud story construction is very intuitive for a motivated end user. I have also found SAC to be a platform for continued improvement with each successive story build.

SAP Analytics Cloud has worked well for us in eliminating the need to construct huge tabular reports in our source system to extract to excel for use in pivot tables. Story construction and aggregation allow a focused dashboard to be built on the end product of interest to the analyst, thereby not just replacing the report with an upgraded UI but saving the time and effort in the excel analysis.
