Transitioned from QuickBooks and are happy!
Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We are in the process of implementing Intacct at Blackbird Investments. I used Intacct for the last 5 years at my prior employer, and it's the first major accounting change I'm making at my new employer. Blackbird currently uses Quickbooks' desktop version and doesn't give us the efficient operations and global views I need to effectively manage the accounting functions here at Blackbird, so we've made the decision to implement Intacct.
Pros
- Global dashboard views.
- Efficient A/P processing.
- Excellent reports.
Cons
- The user interface does make it difficult to find the less used options within the system.
- The professional reporting abilities really legitimize our company as a whole.
- The ease and efficiency of the A/P processing we get with Intacct will probably keep us from having to hire another at least part-time employee, which basically pays for the cost of the software.
- The pricing is a little excessive for some of our entities that really only have a couple of transactions per year.
In addition to Quickbooks, I used older legacy systems, like MAS90. Intacct isn't necessarily easier to use than Quickbooks, but it's not necessarily meant to be easier either. For what it's capable of doing, I think Intacct is very user-friendly. It also makes a lot of processes much more efficient than my team could ever be in QuickBooks. The reporting also looks considerably more professional.
