Overall Satisfaction with Okta

It provides a single point of management for user identities, allows us to utilize SSO user groups to access applications easily, and we particularly appreciate the ability to enforce consistent password policies that have led to a significantly increased operational efficiency, a stronger security posture, and a much simpler, more scalable access management experience.

Pros

  • Enforces security policies like MFA and disk encryption on Macs and Windows devices.
  • Simplifies account setup, deactivation, and password resets.
  • The Zero Trust features greatly strengthen our security.

Cons

  • The initial setup, especially migrating existing users and devices requires a bit of planning.
  • Sometimes it can be inconsistent with how things work successfully.
  • More integrations are needed for this product.
  • Unified credentials for users across Windows, Google Workspace, M365, AWS, etc.
  • Serves as our go-to cloud directory.
  • Managing company devices from one dashboard saves so much time.
It’s conditional access and Zero Trust policies give us strong security control without complicating user experience and we no longer require on-prem AD set ups, which is a huge plus for us due to its cloud directory capabilities.

For us, it’s all about centralizing user identity, access control, and device management and Okta works with both Apple and Microsoft which makes it great for our company with diverse infrastructure. Their user interface and security standards were great for what we needed thus giving us great visibility into users and endpoints within our environment.
