Overall Satisfaction with Okta
We use OKTA as our IDP. It hosts the majority of our applications from a Single-Sign-on point of view. In addition, we use their device trust fast pass feature, which allows us to lock down our sensitive apps so that they are only available from devices authorized and provided by our organization.
Pros
- Single Sign On.
- Application Provisioning.
- Device Trust.
Cons
- Support Services.
- Troubleshooting
- Logging
- Cuts down on the amount of password reset requests we receive.
- Helps lock down sensitive data to only known devices.
- Quicker device deployment and provisioning of users and applications.
We ended up going with OKTA has it had a wider breadth of services from a security perspective at the time so we felt like we were getting more bang for our buck. Not only were we able to take advatage of SSO for all of our apps but we were able to leverage the device trust feature on laptops and mobile phones to prevent unauthorized access to our apps from users personal computers.

Okta Feature Ratings
Using Okta
250 - We use OKTA across all business functions. From an IT perspective we use it mainly for Single Sign On with our SAAS application sets. In addition we use the device trust feature to secure out laptops and mobile devices. This allows us to make sure people are only accessing corporate applications from company issued devices.
Relationship with Okta
There were not alot of direct terms that we negotiated in this case. When we purchased OKTA it was near the end of the fiscal quarter and there were pricing incentives that were available until the end of the quarter that we were happy with and took advantage of. The only thing we negotiated was the removal of auto renew in the contract.
Overall I think the vendor was pretty transparent in their services and pricing options. I think just making sure from the customer perspective that your objectives and expectations are made clear then it will be a pretty smooth process with the vendor. The only issue we have had is our Account Rep has changed quite frequently which does cause a little confusion time to time.
