Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We mostly use monday.com for project management as well as to keep our marketing organized using boards and the calendar. But we also use it as an internal knowledge base for practically all day-2-day operations.

Pros

  • Matching board items to a calendar (we use it as a birds-eye view of our marketing campaigns)
  • Being able to add custom columns in board makes it extremely versatile
  • Automations and integrations with other apps in our tech stack. For example, we use it with Zapier to sync dates (column) to a CSV file, and also to connect to Slack to message channels when certain conditions are met.

Cons

  • Replies to updates do not have a WYSIWYG editor.
  • Board search doesn't seem to search content in updates / replies.
  • The interface has improved a lot and I've grown used to it by now, but it was a little daunting and overwhelming when I first started using it.
  • Increased adherence to deadlines
  • Noticeable time savings on many day-to-day ops
  • Faster launch time for projects
monday.com is fairly easy to use once you get used to the interface, but it can feel overwhelming at first. That being said, the interface is clean especially given the customizability that's built in.
There was only one time I needed help setting up an automation and it was sorted out in less than 5 minutes.
I've never seen monday.com down in three years. It's extremely reliable and performance is stellar, much like working from a desktop application on a very fast computer.

Scheduling, discussing, and managing content releases and marketing campaigns with your team. The calendar view makes it so we can have a visual of what we have scheduled for the year and thus and easily see when we can perhaps squeeze in another email campaign for example.

Creating boards for employees to keep them accountable and give managers a birds-eye view of what they're currently working on, when they started, and when they completed the task versus the deadline (simple date columns). Date columns can also be used together with automations to notify managers when there's a change.

Creating boards to keep track of important changes to the website (with dates and notes for context) to determine any noticeable changes on KPIs.
