Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Miro is pretty much used for everything in our organization. We use it for note taking, research and much more. It is one of our go-to tools for making what we think more tangible. Every project that requires serious thinking also gets its own Miro board. This is a common practice for our organization. Whether it be a quick brainstorming session or an in-depth market analysis, we find Miro boards to be easiest way to visualize and work together on the same page.
Pros
- Miro is very simple to use. You can start putting sticky notes with a click and also copy paste images, which is very convenient.
- The wideness of a Miro board is quite useful. We can dump everything in a Miro board, use it a way of recording.
- Miro has some nice-to have features, such as adding stickers and drawing arrows. These are not must for most of the time, but they can greatly improve one's experience.
Cons
- If a board gets very loaded, it becomes very slow and hard to edit
- I want to have custom sizes for sticky notes (custom ratio)
- Size difference can be a bit of problem. This is hard to explain but, for example, if multiple people add stuff to a Miro board with different sizes, it can get pretty messy.
- Each project gets its own Miro. This allows everyone in the project to be on the same page.
- We use Miro to track some of the outputs of our routine meetings. This allows for a visual tracking of meetings
We are a hybrid team. We have people in different cities, some of the cities without offices. Remote work is a big part of what we do. You have to find a way to visualize stuff in a way that requires no adaptation period. You can give Miro to a child and they can figure out %80 of Miro's functionality without further instruction. That's very important when the organization is constantly growing.
We've used Freeform and Draw.iO (which turned into Diagrams I think?). In my opinion, Freeform is a nightmare in terms of collaboration. The usability is not as good as Miro too. Draw.io was decent, however, compared to Miro I think it looks like a weekend side project of a intern developer. Miro is much better in terms of everything.
