Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use it to facilitate creative work with non-creative colleagues. It’s a great way to bring people into the design process without needing to upskill them in design. I also use it to collaborate and sketch ideas in real-time to help move conversations forward and to make work immediately more tangible, even if it’s lower fidelity.

Pros

  • Simple tools to create a quick sketch in real time.
  • Different shapes and colors capture ideas and text, allowing for a hierarchy that is quick to put together and easy to understand.
  • The infinite size of the canvas means that you can have messy and clean working spaces without worrying about anything being too precious.

Cons

  • Organization - Keeping boards organized like I would with docs in a Google drive is tough.
  • Sharing—People who are new to Miro often have difficulty accessing boards that have been shared with them.
  • Shapes - I’d like a more exhaustive library of shapes.
  • Miro helps get projects approved and kicked off.
  • Miro makes it easier to get everyone on the same page.
  • Miro is simple enough to bring cross-functional teams together on an even playing field.
We use Miro in every meeting. It’s a great way to facilitate cross-functional conversations. It also helps to keep people focused and on topic in online meetings. The visual nature of the canvas makes capturing and prioritizing thinking much effective than in a doc or a sheet. Miro is also very good for synchronous and asynchronous work.
Miro is more stable and much more accessible for non-creative/non-design users.
