Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro on our technology team for: road mapping, design, creating custom graphics for presentations, documentation, and brain storming. It's easier to use than power point or any other tool and has more customization for creating images. It's similar to tools we've used for process documentation but it's design options are visually much more appealing than tech tools. It's also incredibly user friendly so it's used by our design/marketing teams too.
Pros
- Great templates so you don't need to build from scratch
- Super easy to use for beginners
- Fast and easy export of any part of any board
- Easy to collaborate with multiple users on a board
Cons
- Most of the icons are hard to use on different any background that is not white
- There are nice templates but most are easy to make on your own -- miro should give more complicated ones that can be filled in
- My browser sometimes has issues with zooming in/out and I have to refresh the whole board
- Sizing is hard to determine
- Improved visuals and designs for presentations
- Easy to use road mapping feature
- Quick and easy collaboration with multiple teams/users on a board
Miro has been great in the ideation and brainstorming phase. Multiple team members are able to work on a single board at the same time and export presentable versions. We also use the lock/ comments feature liberally to prevent making changes to other members work. It also helps team members create technical visuals/documentation together.
We used lucidchart to create quick tech documentation but Miro is able to do that plus a lot more on the design/brain storming side. We used smartsheets for roadmapping and still would for in-depth project management and budgeting but Miro is more visually appealing for a high level view. We still use PowerPoint for presentations but use Miro instead of the charts feature in it.
