Overall Satisfaction with Miro
In our company working on the development and production of laboratory devices for the life sciences, Miro is used during agile development of devices for organizing our dailies, requirements engineering, and some review meetings to quickly organize our topics. We use the possibility to visualize and edit workflows, decision-making, project goal tracking, and creation of first UI drafts. Overall, Miro is our first choice for quick visualization of items, which is highly preferred over more text-based project management tools in our teams.
Pros
- Availability of Tags/labels to categorize items.
- Locking & Grouping features.
- Possibility to assign people and deadlines to cards.
Cons
- Tag organisation - it gets complex quite quickly.
- Copying & pasting items (such as pictures) from Miro to other software, such as MS word.
- Colour coding - colours in post its and other objects are dissimilar.
- Positive: More fun in organising (simple) data.
- Positive: quick drafting of UI ideas.
- Negative: Leaving tools for Miro which are more suitable to tracking project progress (such as Jira).
Especially during times of rising home office-based colleagues, we can stick together as a team to continue organizing our work in a visually pleasing way. This is especially useful to keep the team motivated in video conferences, which tend to make people lose their connection to coworkers. However, we do not use it in teams collaborating internationally.
