Overall Satisfaction with Gusto

I am employee using Gusto for three different organizations - one as an hourly employee and two as a contract worker. In all cases, the program makes getting paid easy, which historically has not always been true as a contract worker. As an hourly worker, Gusto makes it easy to input hours daily or to clock in and out if I'm consistently working at my computer. I have multiple hourly rates and Gusto makes switching between them an easy transition.

Pros

  • handles multiple hourly rates
  • easy to input hours after the fact
  • good on mobile and on computer

Cons

  • my default company is not the one I use all the time and there's no way to switch which company opens first, so I have to switch all the time and that added delay is annoying - I should be able to identify my "primary" company (this is also new in the last year, as it always used to open to the last company I had been using but one of the updates in the past year ruined that)
  • the delay in loading seems universal, so switching between home and time tracking takes awhile
  • I would like to be able to mute/ignore the "news/reminders" on the home page - I know when the payday is coming up but it's there constantly which is another thing to load which slows things down. Can I not just do a "don't show this message again" choice?!
  • we are able to have three administrators, which has saved time when changes need to be made
  • Gusto tracking needed paperwork - I9s, etc. - for us has saved at least 5 hours a month
I have multiple titles/jobs and multiple pay rates and Gusto makes it easy to switch between.

I do wish that inputting hours would allow for something to end at 1:00 and another thing to start at 1:00, as minutes count and that's not unusual. If I am clocking in and out, that's an option, so why is it not if I am inputting hours later?
Gusto was recommended to us by our bookkeeper when we took over handling payroll from them (they had previously use SpringAhead) as being more user-friendly for someone who is not a CPA.
