Figma Organization

Overall Satisfaction with Figma

We use Figma from the ideation stages, when we need to experiment with concepts through wireframes and other low-fidelity deliverables, through flow design and up to the final design deliverables within the squads, where delivery includes navigable high-fidelity prototypes for business teams and documented deliverables for developers, in the process we call handoff.

Pros

  • High fidelity prototypes
  • Handoff for developers
  • flow design
  • rapid prototyping focused on initial concepts

Cons

  • Prototypes capable of handling databases
  • Ability to populate information in an automated way
  • generate higher quality source code for development teams
  • The whole team understands what needs to be done
  • Higher quality deliveries
  • Possibility to test ideas before bringing them to life
In general, Figma has good usability, especially for those who are comfortable with other tools in the segment. In other words, Figma allows people who come from other tools to "inherit" their usage, and that is good. However, after the learning period, due to the high number of updates promoted by the Figma team, something that is good ends up being bad when things change places very quickly. One example is the autolayout, which has changed countless times and sometimes this can be a bit annoying.
Figma was a huge turning point compared to its competitors, especially Adobe XD, a tool designed for the same purpose as Figma. I would say that it and all the other tools I mentioned, including those that do not have the same focus on UX design (Photoshop and Illustrator), have problems especially regarding cooperation, and this was something that Figma revolutionized, as it is still the tool that offers the best possible experience for this way of working. Cooperating with other designers, especially online, is something that no tool today is able to compete with what Figma offers.

Do you think Figma delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Figma's feature set?

Yes

Did Figma live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Figma go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Figma again?

Yes

Figma is an excellent tool for teams that work with a focus on design. From the ideation stages, when we don't yet know exactly what we're going to develop but need to make things visible to multidisciplinary teams (which involve people from business, technology and others) to the delivery stages, when we need to put the projects to the test.
