Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use DraftSight to carry out basic 2D electrical and instrumentation drawings. It is used primarily by the process department. We chose DraftSight, as it provides all the features we require to produce professional 2D drawings. Other free software packages we have tried have had certain features missing, so we would need more than one package to complete the task.

Allowed us to draw EC&I docs in house

Likelihood to Recommend

I would only use DraftSight for simple two-dimensional control and instrumentation drawings. It is good for simple line drawings where not very much detail is required. I would not use DraftSight for any three-dimensional drawings. as the software does not lend itself well to the three-dimensional applications.
