Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We first started using Avalara in order to take advantage of the SST enrollment. We are currently using it for our e-commerce tax calculations.

Pros

  • Tax calculation based on ship-to address.
  • Application of exempt certificates.

Cons

  • Making it easier when setting up jurisdictions.
  • Sometimes, it's not intuitive when you are looking for something.
  • Quicker response when you encounter an issue.
  • Positive - tax rate calculation.
  • It had no effect on # of staff needed.
Would give higher rate if the software was more intuitive and if getting support was easier. Also, we have been using the software for awhile now and I just got an email congratulating me on my purchase and urging me to set up my company.
We have not used any other products of this nature.
Companies selling in multiple states and/or using e-commerce.
