Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We use it to calculate sales tax on our website (all orders) and file returns. It's used mostly by accounting. It takes the error out of calculating sales tax and filing returns.

  • Communications where there are outages or disruptions
  • We eliminated a position and the penalties and fees from late filing from using Avalara

Avalara is great with calculating sales tax and filing returns. We don't have any scenarios where we use it and it isn't appropriate.

Avalara Reliability

It works well for what we need and as we've added more jurisdictions.
We had a huge sale a few weeks ago and there were issues with connectivity with Avalara. It resulted in overcharging sales tax and the accounting team needing to refund 2000 customers.
It takes awhile to upload transactions to Avalara.
