Anaplan has created a new front end specifically to increase it's usability and provide better flexibility to businesses. It is highly configurable based on the needs of the business. In addition to that end users have the ability to create a custom board for themselves to meet very targeted needs.
Anaplan is a cloud-based, real-time planning tool that offers more flexibility and scalability, making it suitable for various business functions. It emphasizes collaborative planning and provides a user-friendly interface. Hyperion Essbase, now part of Oracle, is a more traditional on-premises OLAP solution with a strong focus on financial planning and reporting. While Essbase offers robust multidimensional analysis capabilities, Anaplan provides a more modern, integrated approach to planning across multiple departments. Anaplan's in-memory calculation engine allows for faster data processing, while Essbase relies on pre-calculated cubes for analysis.
