We mainly use YouTrack to track our mobile app. We have a roadmap built out that has bugs, features and other updates we plan on making to the app. With some of the updates we plan on doing to the app, we use the issue tracker to store links etc. on the task, so we can review it when we circle back to it.
Pros
Tracking Issues
Clean UI
Managing Multiple Aspects of the Product (API, Frontend)
Cons
When editing projects, there are way too many features. Its bloated and half of them are not needed.
Filtering, could also be better. I often how to remember certain shortcuts, but wish it was easier to do on the frontend.
Likelihood to Recommend
Its well suited to track issues and manage your product. The UI on the actual tracker and roadmap is clean and easy enough to understand. Its also very intuitive.
Its main weakness are the amount of features on the project editor. Its very bloated and I don't need majority of them.

Project Manager in Product Management (1-10 employees)
We use YouTrack to document product bugs. We used to use it for product feature requests as well, but we've moved to another tool owned by our product managers. The tech support team is the primary use of YouTrack. We log bugs by defining the problem and listing impacted customers, and we use custom fields to organize and report on these issues. We also use dashboards to collaborate with engineering for fixes, as well as for doing an annual "clean up" project where Support retests issues to see if they've been indirectly resolved.
Pros
Customization of fields that helps us report on what's important to us
Notification options for issues followed so I never miss an update
Filtered views for focused work
Cons
We haven't found an easy way to integrate with our CRM to understand the link between documented issues and business impact.

For collaboration between Support and Engineering/QA teams, YouTrack has been really helpful in communicating bugs and their impact to customers. Once we had a maturing Product Management team, however, YouTrack became less effective for customer feature requests. Because FRs have a longer lifecycle than bugs and need deeper understanding, we moved FRs into another tool that is owned by product managers.
We use YouTrack as our ticketing software to track the open items required for our product. This allows us to collaborate and document our findings within the ticket itself, as well as a source to track all work done and testing of the request. Without it, we would be totally lost!
Pros
Orginaization
Aesthetics
Utility
Cons
Displaying Data
Custonization
Organic

If you need out of the box ticket organization for a particular product or process then it can be very helpful. There are certain customizations that are nice, but it would be better if we had more variability in how to display agile boards. With that all said I would definitely recomend it.
YouTrack is used in multiple ways in our company. We use it for managing agile projects (kanban), tracking internal tasks and we also use it for supporting our clients. We wanted a platform that we could self host and is lean on system resources. We also were conscious of the fact that when giving access to external clients that it has to be easy to use and have an uncluttered interface. Many non-technical users (and several technical ones) are scared off by defacto standard platforms like JIRA and this does not align with our profile of being collaborative with our clients and understanding that they need simplicity. That said, we also crave simplicity and YouTrack gives us that without compromising on the capabilities we need.
Pros
Agile Project Management (we use kanban boards)
A simple, customisable interface which we can use both internally with more detail and externally for clients with less detail
Lean with system resources and simple to set up and operate
Cons
We're actually very happy YouTrack users and have yet to come across a scenario where any of the team felt the product was lacking.

We use it for both support and project management alike. It's not as bloated or indeed as expensive as JIRA, so unless you have particularly complex requirements, YouTrack fits the bill in pretty much the same use cases as JIRA does.
The interface is also a good deal nicer on the eye and less clunky than a lot of the Open Source (eg. RedMine) and enterprise (eg. Remedy).
It does have a customisable workflow for things like ticket age alerts. We don't make a great deal of use of this and had found that it can take a little fiddling if you want something very bespoke but it is clearly quite powerful.
