TrustRadius Insights for Yext are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, third party data sources.
Pros
User-Friendly and Intuitive Dashboard: Many users have mentioned that Yext's dashboard is very user-friendly and intuitive, allowing them to easily navigate and manage their online presence. The dashboard has been praised for its simplicity and ease of use, with no unexpected features or items.
Helpful Account Managers: Several reviewers have expressed their satisfaction with Yext's dedicated account managers who provide assistance whenever issues arise. These account managers are readily available to help resolve any problems and even reach out to external support teams, such as Apple, on behalf of the users.
Cost-Effective Solution: Users have found Yext to be a cost-effective option compared to other competitors in the market. The competitive pricing makes it an attractive choice for businesses looking to manage their online listings efficiently without breaking the bank.
I am a consultant for a digital marketing agency. We partner with very small SMBs (usually 5-50 employees) and help them reach local customers. Yext is an *irreplaceable* tool for accomplishing this. Specifically the photo upload and business hours edit functions: update it in one portal, hit publish, and those hours or those photos are hitting dozens of websites at once. Clutch.
Pros
Photo management
Business hour edits
NAPU management
Online information management / consistency
Cons
Publishing feature is sometimes wonky when editing businesses with suite #s.
Scan tool (use for sales purposes) often shows "directory not available" for major directories like Waze, Bing, and Facebook.

Yext is an essential tool for any SMB that is seeking to reach a local audience. ANY time one of my clients cancels services with my agency I recommend they purchase a Yext annual license. (I'm pretty sure most ignore this advice, but I believe it is the right thing to recommend.)
Yext is way less essential (or perhaps even counterproductive) for an SMB seeking a national audience (such as an ecommerce or elearning business) and of course it is not meant for national/multinational corporations with national/multinational reach.

We love using Yext to keep all of our business listings up to date across all platforms. Yext pushes to more search engines than we would ever be able to get to manually and makes sure our information is current and accurate. The platform itself is also incredibly easy to use. Simply put, it makes our job easier!
Pros
Updating listings quickly and correctly
Showing clear data in the dashboard reporting
Letting us easily identify a problem if there is one.
Cons
Faster data pulling for reporting.
Likelihood to Recommend
It has been very well suited for every business listing we have created. We love it for restaurants to easily showcase menu items, reservations, hours of operation etc. It seems to be less appropriate for Higher Ed clients, as Google tends to push their own listings and showcase the listing differently than other businesses and with less information than what we input.

Yext is used by our organization for both our own purposes, but we are also a reseller. It is recommended with every client we work with to address their directory listing inconsistencies and help with their SEO. We have some clients for which we also monitor reviews but the primary purpose is listing cleanup, particularly for businesses that have moved or changed names/ownership.
Pros
Updating directory listings in one fell swoop
Allows for a lot of data for each listing to be entered
Duplicate suppression is a very handy tool
Cons
Duplicate suppression does not always take hold and there is often little recourse

Yext is appropriate for any business that has a brick and mortar shop, but is also useful for contractors/other businesses that serve a radius. Any business that has moved, changed phone numbers or names, or has any information to update ever can benefit from this service.
We use this for all our clients with the goal of improving their google ranking and ensuring the correct info is live throughout the internet.
Two staffers use this for their clients. We track client reviews. With a few clients, we use Yext code on their website to show off their reviews and allow for their clients to leave reviews on their site. We constantly update info from office hours to events to new menus.
Pros
Information push
Review tracking
Building citations
Cons
Instructions
Help Screens
Big learning curve

It is well suited for most businesses, but to get the full benefit, it requires extensive study. For example, it is easy enough to load their knowledge graph, the main place where client data is stored. Some of the purposes of the field are not clear. Samples and short explanations would be helpful.
We use Yext to ensure that our clients have accurate, up-to-date listings and reviews across Google, Yelp, and about 72 other platforms. We've found it most useful for clients at the franchise level, because their locations need a dedicated tool for accuracy, but our smaller clients have also seen gains from Yext. For those franchise clients, Yext can automatically update absolutely every listing for absolutely every location, roll out brand-wide or store or region-specific promotions, and even update on specific personnel in the medical and legal fields. It's kind of insane how powerful it is!
Pros
Broad updates fast - I don't have to mess with specific listings at all.
Duplicate suppression - A definitive information source for our clients' customers.
Powerful analytics - We can show accurate ROI and estimated conversions very easily.
Cons
Web scraper - Clients don't want to do data entry, and this is the fastest way to grab info from some of them. It could be a bit more robust, to be honest.
Linked entities - Useful for letting customers know, for example, where a certain medical professional will be on a certain day of the week. Not impossible to use, but it feels like it could be easier.
Dark mode - The UI is bright white, and I'd like something easier on the eyes.
Likelihood to Recommend
Yext is great for bigger clients. If your client has a franchise of any kind, or even multiple locations, that's an ideal use case. For smaller clients, with one location that doesn't change a lot, Yext isn't as viable, and the effort to update maybe ten or fifteen listings would be worth it.

We used it to manage review sites and information from a central location. It was intended to cut down on time spent on logging in and making edits on multiple portals. We were excited to see it grow our client's local listings and their sales. We thought that it would be a great part of our solution.
Pros
Consolidated management of reviews sites.
Easy to update reviews sites.
Distribute data to reviews sites.
Cons
Account management
Tact and manners
Ability to implement what they sold.
Likelihood to Recommend
I don't see the value in Yext. It was never fully functional and they had little interest in supporting it once it was "implemented." There were knowledge gaps on their end and little documentation. We waited days at a time to get assistance from them even though we were paying for a very premium service.

Our digital marketing team utilizes Yext for unified listings and review management, and it has helped improve efficiency and ensure that all of our client data is correct, up-to-date, and on the most important sites.
Pros
Efficient management of online listings and citations
Duplicate citation suppression
Customer support and training
Relatively easy-to-use knowledge graph
Cons
Cost. This platform offers a lot of powerful features, but it has an expensive barrier to entry.
Annual contracts limit flexibility for smaller companies
The biggest drawback is that you need to keep your subscription active or listings/citation data will revert back to what it was pre-Yext implementation
Likelihood to Recommend
For larger companies with multiple businesses and larger budgets, Yext absolutely makes sense. And its options for healthcare-related companies also make it a no-brainer for those types of organizations. For smaller agencies and businesses, the annual contracts and price point may make it prohibitive.

It is being used to support our hyper-local strategy by managing and creating our main listings, and a bunch of citation listings through all of their APIs. We also effectively manage our listings with any required update(s) to ensure that our NAP (Name, Address, Phone) data is consistent throughout the internet. We also manage the suppression of duplicates through Yext.
Pros
Creating Citation Listings
Updating Citation Listings
Duplicate Suppression
Cons
Customer Service
Technical Support
Likelihood to Recommend
Yext is best for large businesses with many locations. When I worked for a larger company, it worked really well and the team was really responsive.
When you are a smaller player, they don't care too much to reply to your issues (two business days per response).

Yext is part of the SEO services that our agency provides. Our clients need to manage their listings across the web on Google and other sites, and Yext delivers a secure platform to do that. We can input all their contact information, business description, photos, and other details into one platform, and this information will be universally provided across all their listings.
Pros
Simple UI. The platform is easy to navigate.
Great customer service. Any issue that we've taken to the support team has been resolved within a day.
Cons
Takes some time for a new user to understand the platform.
Some website error messages when reviewing listings do not make sense.
Likelihood to Recommend
In an industry, such as hospitality, where companies have listings across the web on different site, it is crucial to make sure that each listing has the correct information — users who see the listing need to be able to contact the hotel and see the correct address. Yext is perfect for this, as it makes it easy to put all the accurate information in one place.
