Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Xactly Incent is currently being used in our entire enterprise. We use it to calculate commission payouts for 4000+ employees.

Pros

  • Provides training opportunities for new features and enhancements
  • Allows end users the ability to see the details behind what they are getting compensated for
  • Provides commission calculation updates on a daily basis

Cons

  • Support is not always well versed in our plan configurations.
  • There is no ability to look back at an order to see what an employee was paid to recoup 100% of charge backs.
  • Analytics reporting is difficult to understand and takes 2 hours to update when new orders are added to the system.

Likelihood to Recommend

Xactly does not currently link to our HR database, making it time-consumingt for the admins to manually process new hires, terminations and department changes.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Xactly Incent is being used globally for our cloud sales portion of our company. Our plans are fairly complex and the first year we definitely had a sharp learning curve while getting up and running but now we have a great understanding of the system and can leverage its flexibility to our advantage.

Pros

  • Xactly Incent gives you great flexibility to create plans that fit your company’s needs.
  • Xactly Incent can be customized by an internal team person without consultants etc. So changes can be made in minutes not weeks.
  • Xactly Incent can be managed by one or two people (depending on the user base).
  • Xactly Incent's IT support is amazing with quick turn around times, super knowledgeable, and friendly.

Cons

  • Some of Xactly Incent features are not as easy to understand.

Likelihood to Recommend

Mid-sized companies or companies with more simple plans will love it.

If all you need is a secure reporting method for commission, Xactly may not be worth the headache

Used by Finance and accounting to pay commissions to calculate and report commissions for sales associates.

Pros

  • Secure reporting that is accessible by the sales team directly from anywhere.
  • Consistent capture of information, calculation of payments and tracking of status
  • Flexible in how calculations are performed.

Cons

  • Out of the box reporting is not strong. Requires the additional purchase of analytic reporting tool to do any real analysis or to provide individual custom reporting.
  • Acts like a full blown accounting system. Makes the system rigid in processing. Probably great for larger companies with well defined processes. For smaller companies with decision points in its plans, it is unforgiving. I would be nice to have a slimmed down version with flexible functions in the calculations and a stronger back in reporting/distribution to sales team.
  • Difficult to make changes and do adjustments to prior periods.

Easy to use compensation system

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Xactly to calculate the compensation amounts for our Global Sales Team. It is used by sales and administered through Business Operations. Xactly helps use, create, and administer our compensation plans quickly and accurately.

Pros

  • Xactly is able to give accurate and detailed information to end users. As long as the plans are created correctly within the system, you are ensured the compensation amounts will be correct.
  • The dashboards help users see a detailed view of their payout amounts.

Cons

  • The Analytics Module is not user friendly and you must have training to use it.
  • It would help if Xactly created a set of free training's to Administrators or end users. All training must be paid for and there is not training material available (unless paid for).

Likelihood to Recommend

Is the software easy to customize or do you need a developer to change the comp plans within the system? The product is great for larger companies that have a large amount of people on compensation plans. It is also best to be used at a company that is not continually changing their plans.

Xactly is our only commissions system. It is owned by the Finance department and is used for entire sales organization for calculating commissions for different roles.

Pros

  • It has a very intuitive UI for both end user and admins.
  • Writing plans is easy as long as you know your data elements.

  • None
