We use WooCommerce for selling online courses. We wanted to sell online courses and were looking for the solution. But we found that the commercially available solutions like Kajabi, Teachable, or ClickFunnels were too costly and we had to pay a recurring cost. Besides that our courses are extremely affordable. So we went for a WordPress website and then for selling the courses and receiving payments WooCommerce was obvisous choice. WooCommerce is reliable solution for WordPress and it's free too!

WooCommerce is a best plugin for WordPress. If you don't want to pay monthly fees for the commercial shopping carts or online shops and need full control, go for WordPress website. WooCommerce goes perfectly well with WordPress. And there are a lot of plugins available to extend the functionality of WooCommerce such as, membership plugins, collecting recurring payments, etc.
WooCommerce was my main ecommerce host for many years for my online store. It worked very well for basic applications but became troublesome when customisation was needed

Since we are primarily build WordPress websites, we use Woo-Commerce whenever we have a customer who wants to have an online store. The sites range from single-page campaign pages, offering one product or such as an event ticket to complex multi-page site offering hundreds of products in the retail space. We have also successfully used WooCommerce to implement e-commerce solutions for the sale of digital goods, such as books and articles. Some customers want a "request a quote" solution as opposed to a full checkout and delivery system on their website and we have successfully implemented both of these types using WooCommerce. While WooCommerce doesn't natively handle every scenario that we come across in the e-commerce space, we are always able to find reliable add-ons to achieve the customers' goals.

While the product management functionality is good, the ability to manage the search functionality on websites that use WooCommerce needs some improvement. Although this is considered basic functionality, you need add-ons to set things like the match type on search queries. Without these add-ons, doing searches on a WooCommerce enabled website can have unexpected results that diminish the user experience.
Although, having plug-ins created by third-party's is a good thing, it also means that there is a higher risk of plug-ins being unsafe or not compatible with other features on the website or even other WooCommerce add-ons. This can and has compromise the integrity of some websites, causing both display and functionality issues.
Unless you just need a very basic website or a very basic e-commerce functionality, your development team is going to have to learn to use new plug-ins every time a customer wants some thing different from a standard e-commerce implementation. Set up of WooCommerce is fairly easy with some experience of WordPress. Any business that wants to sell online using a WordPress website would do well using WooCommerce. WooCommerce could be overkill if you just need to sell one or 2 products or are looking for a cart plugin that has more of a conversion optimized funnel (although there are plugins for this within the WooCommerce Ecosystem)
We use it to sell a wide range of beauty products to retailers in the Netherlands & Belgium. In WooCommerce we mainly use the products functionality to add images, ingredient information and product information to give those retailers more information. Also we use the plugins to ActiveCampaign and HubSpot to connect purchase information to our marketing tools.

WooCommerce is a great out of the box solution for those who are looking for an easy install and checkout. However, if you're looking to "get cute" with your customization options, as well as really rely heavily on plugins to work simultaneously alongside WooCommerce, the system can become rather big quickly leading to bloated and slow loading code. Eventually we ran into the situation where the pages loaded so slow that we had to start getting help from caching plugins just to subdue WooCommerce itself.
We use WooCommerce to manage the ecommerce side of our business. Roughly 20% of our purchases are made online, so we needed a system where we could list and update our inventory for our customers to choose from. Aside from this, we also use it to collect feedback & requests, and to run our blog

I can vouch for WooCommerce's performance in a small business setting. It has good performance, it's easy to integrate with other tools, the transactions work smoothly, and most importantly, we can get on the system and update our stock/listings in seconds.
We tried to learn all the documentation as we were very limited in what we can do with woocommerce. After studying documentation, we understood that system will not be able to function sustainably. Not even one transaction went through woocemmerce, so we kindly asked for refund, but we were punished for working hard to work with woocommerce and make it work, by refusal to refund us after 30 days, which is not enough for beginners.
