Wolters Kluwer CCH ProSystem fx is best suited for more experienced tax professionals that typically prepare more complicated individual returns (1040). It is also well suited for firms that prepare corporate, partnerships, estate/trusts, and other more detailed returns that require K-1's. The application is good for small and large teams due to the workflow that keeps everyone on the same page.

For smaller firms that prepare simple returns, there are other products in the market to fulfill those needs.

It does well with preparing tax returns once all the updates are in. It does a good job of providing report creation flexibility. Their multiple applications communicate well with each other.

The Engagement module which is designed for audits needs improvement. So does their Scan module which is designed for document management.

Given our industry (audit, tax & advisory services) having a centralized "binder" system to prevent duplication of efforts is paramount from an efficiency standpoint. Furthermore, the interface for sign-offs, file modification dates, the workpaper note features are fantastic to keep audit teams and other professional teams on the same page.
