Categories & Use Cases

Fastest way to share files with no need to create an account, and for free!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use WeTransfer in order to share materials between employees inside the company or to share them with clients and other companies. It helps us share big files that we can not attach via email on occasions where we can not upload them to Google Drive. It's extremely easy to use!

Pros

  • Not asking you to have an account to upload things.
  • Not asking you to have an account to download things.
  • Being free for not so big files.

Cons

  • It "broke" a few times lately.
  • The deadline to download files sometimes is not long enough (even though it's days!!).
  • It'd be great if it was free for bigger files too.

Return on Investment

  • Accelerates the process of sharing documents.
  • Saves time not having to create new users.
  • It's been difficult to share some files when it went down for almost a whole day.

Usability

WeTransfer is our favorite for remote work and sharing files - without it our work is more challenging

Pros

  • Sharing large files
  • Accessing files remotely
  • Sharing files remotely
  • Sharing with those who do not have access to our shared drive (clients, vendors, 3rd parties)

Cons

  • File limit for the free transfer version sometimes is not enough
  • Chrome can be a bit wonky uploading - sometimes it takes more than once to complete

Return on Investment

  • Without WeTransfer, or a similar software, sometimes we would not be able to get our work done. We rely on sharing files with vendors, clients and 3rd parties
  • Without WeTransfer or a similar software, working remotely would be more challenging
