I use WebPT daily as a PT for documentation. It is an easy platform for our clinic to use and everything is streamlined with patient charts as well as scheduling. It allows for easy communication between front office staff and clinicians with the messaging option. For documentation purposes, everything is organized, easy to learn, and I enjoy that information is carried over from note to note to make documentation quicker and easier. I would recommend this platform.
Pros
Organized documentation
Easy billing
Organized scheduling options
Cons
Often lose connection and it will be down for hours
Tasks is confusing at times for new users
Allow for more specific questions on patient intake to be uploaded to initial evaluations

WebPT is great for general PT clinics, especially for outpatient clinics. It would not be as useful in a hospital setting for documentation as some EMR systems like EPIC allow you to access more medical records. All medical records need to be uploaded manually to WebPT which allows for some things to not be included. It is very helpful and easy to use in an outpatient setting for fast documentation.
We use WebPT for our EMR and are pleased with the notifications, reports and the totally user-friendly approach the system has. It doesn't take long to create a chart and communicates with the other software that we use for our billing. I like the fact that it has several options for the calendar/scheduler legend, making it easier to spot new patient appointment and any other appointments that need special color coding. I like the ease of uploading documents as well. All-in-all, I would recommend this system to anyone looking to streamline the ease of patient records.
Pros
red alerts for auths and RX ending
Alerts for KX mods
Alerts when progress notes are needed
Being able to see most of the patient information on one screen, so you don't have to toggle back and forth between screens
Being able to open multiple tabs at once so you can continue working without having to remember which case you were on.
Cons
when looking at a patient's upcoming appointments, I wish there was a way to click on the date within that box that would take you to the date on the calendar so you can make changes.

I have been using WebPT for over 4 years now and would recommend to anyone looking for a great EMR. It didn't take long to learn the system and was super user-friendly. To be able to go to one place for locating the notes on the patients, chart records, attachments etc., is a bonus. It makes things run more efficiently. Also, the ability to communicate with third party platforms for the initial paperwork, home exercise program and FOTO is great too.
In my outpatient PT/Pilates clinic, we use it for our daily notes and all POC documentation related to PT services specifically that we offer. The business problems addressed include need for medicare compliance via progress notes within timeframes, need for doctor signature and communications, and WebPT all documents this well. We also have multiple clients who are seen by 1-3 PTs due to the part time nature of our work, and therefore WebPT also helps us with intra-team communication and updates on clients.
Pros
Alerting when progress notes/New POC are needed.
Making it easy to send multiple forms/information to doctors.
Keeping close track of units and minutes in a session, and having us complete information/details to justify each use of units/codes.
Cons
I like that it carries forward information from previous notes. I also wonder, though, if there could be a more comprehensive "archive" of activities we had done in the past rather than only copying and paste from the previous note.
I like seeing a few comparisons of my outcome measures--when writing a progress note, I don't just want to see the last measure. Seeing the last 3-4 values from the test would have been helpful to really see different trends.
Fewer click boxes in the evals would be helpful to keep things moving along at some points. I appreciate the variety offered, but also struggle with how much clicking there is to get through.

Well suited: outpatient private clinics where PTs; sports environments. Less well suited: seems like a large hospital setting might have a more difficult time with the operations. Practices with multiple disciplines in it--are PTs and SLPs and OTs all able to document as they need?
As a former patient representative in the physical therapy department, I enjoyed the ease of use when entering patients and creating patient encounters. Working with the therapists, I was able to navigate areas of the system that impacted the bottom line. I also liked the ability to fax from within the system itself.
Pros
place of service designation
keeps track of the encounter numbers
alerts us when the patients are approaching their cap
Cons
scheduler does not allow POS
report numbers are hard to understand without much direction
outcomes sometimes do not attach
Likelihood to Recommend
I liked how it was designed by a physical therapist. It's user friendly for the most part.
We use WebPT to generate home exercise programs for our patients. This solves the issue of patient compliance compared to verbalizing instructions or giving them a printout. WebPT allows us to send patients videos with written and verbal instructions to ensure proper performance of the exercises. WebPT also will enable us to adjust the programming with a few clicks easily.
Pros
Automatically creates patient profiles from our EMR system.
Allows quick and easy customization of home exercise programs.
Allows PT to check on patient compliance with HEP.
Cons
Needs more exercises in the database.
Exercises need better verbiage for searchability.
Lacks higher level exercises.
Some exercise videos are not performed 100% properly.
Likelihood to Recommend
I only use it as a HEP generator, but compared to other systems I have used, WebPT makes it easy to create programs (2 minutes on average) and adjust.
WEBPT ESSENTIALLY RUNS THE WHOLE OFFICE - FROM SCHEDULING AND ENTERING PATIENT INFO; TO DOCUMENTATION, HEP, BILLING, AND EVEN SOME MARKETING/PATIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT.
Pros
EASE OF SCHEDULING AND PATIENT REMINDERS.
DOCUMENTATION IS USER-FRIENDLY.
SENDS DIRECTLY TO BILLING AND HELPS COMPLIANCE WITH ALL THE RULES.
Cons
I wish the patient reminders didn't cost as much to send, and it would be great to be able to send text messages for any other reason.
WebPT adds on extras that always seem to cost more - overall, it is kind of expensive.
I always wish the documentation was quicker - but I'm not sure what else that would take.
Likelihood to Recommend
WebPT fits perfectly with our outpatient PT practice; it covers all or most of the admin issues that come up. I suspect practice would be a lot more challenging without it. I have limited experience with other EMRs.
Notes and billing we don’t really have business problems and our cases are physical therapy
Pros
Answers questions over the phone well
Moves from Webb PT to Therabill easily
Cons
Does not work well on my cell phone
At times as a very long waiting time to get somebody on the phone
Likelihood to Recommend
What PT is easy to use in my car with my iPad. However, when I try to use my cell phone, it’s hard to sign in because the whole page does not fit on the cell phone.
WebPT is easy to use and has fantastic customer support. I use it for EMR for my PT practice. I also use Therabill, which is wonderful. My billing information automatically overflows from WebPT into Therabill. Both programs have checks to make sure my bills are clean and I get maximum reimbursement.
Pros
Ease of use
Thorough training provided
Syncs well with Therabill
Cons
I'd like there to be more ability to customize pelvic health templates
I wish there was a way to customize templates for my Pilates clients
Likelihood to Recommend
WebPT is easy to use and provides excellent training and customer support. Documentation is easy and I love that the system checks my notes to ensure I've entered all necessary information to maximize reimbursement.
