We use Webflow as our primary CMS platform for developing websites for our clients. After years of doing traditional, custom code work, we adopted it for it's no/low-code capabilities. We're able to deliver the highest possible quality in a fraction of the time, and at a lower cost than we were previously able to. As a designer-led agency, Webflow has also been a crucial tool for delivering pixel-perfect front-ends and empowering our design team to experiment in new ways.

  • It has a flexible and scalable CMS with page-building capabilities that clients and marketers love.
  • The built in SEO and optimize tools give marketers an all-in-one solution for building, deploying, and optimizing content.

Webflow, in my opinion, is the best web builder for companies aiming to grow significantly over time. Webflow allows you to start small but with many tools that will allow you to grow a business. Webflow's CMS and page building functionalities allows marketing teams to work seamlessly with the design and development teams.

In the other hand for small businesses that don't really have a budget for a fully functional website, Webflow tends to be too expensive, as there are more affordable options.

We've used it to build websites and landing pages for clients, all without coding through its easy no-code lego-like setup ✨ It not only lets you build beautiful custom designs but also gives you an easy to add interaction setup. Thus making the desired output quicker for both the client and us.

It is totally excellent for landing pages and websites, especially when you are looking for something custom, yet quick!✨ It is less appropriate for websites that need user accounts, as it is has discontinued this feature recently. External plugins are available but that is just an added cost.

Webflow is our primary tool for websites requiring more than a landing page and no direct integration with a database app like Airtable. We love its CMS features for our blog and selling digital products. It offers the perfect balance of a GUI and developer accommodations.

We are a web agency that builds elegant and high-performing websites for various clients in the Pacific Northwest. Webflow is our preferred platform because it allows our team to create beautiful websites without sacrificing functionality and user experience. Often, we bring clients on who are frustrated with their current website provider, and in general, all of our clients have been very happy with the switch.

Pros

  • Customer Support - you can email them and a real human will respond in 24 hours
  • Launching New Features - Webflow is always working on something and it's great to see them answering the requests of their users.
  • Partnerships - Webflow partners with a lot of incredible businesses that make integrations a breeze.

Cons

  • Building for smaller businesses - a lot of Webflow's decisions are made with large businesses in mind which sometimes is not attainable for smaller businesses
  • Since Webflow is a newer tool, there's still a lot of growth to be done

Likelihood to Recommend

I've worked with many website-building platforms, and I genuinely believe that Webflow is the superior option. It's abilities are bar none compared to other tools out there. It is more of a learning curve when compared to a drag-and-drop builder. Still, the Webflow University education platform is unmatched and allows anyone to get the hang of Webflow development.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Webflow for our own website but also to build and design client websites. It enables us to quickly go from design to production of the sites and suits team members that would not have a coding background. Updating the sites is easy and the CMS feature is great. It also allows us to share designs with clients effortlessly.

  • Resources and training via Webflow University - the tutorial videos are informative and funny.
  • Competitively priced.

Cons

  • Canvas scaling does not work great.
  • Having to use 3rd parties like MailChimp to make even simple form submissions operational is a real pain.

The platform is easy to use, and the interface is brilliant, where you can easily apply styles, see the structure, and develop sites quickly and easily. It is also a great learning platform for beginners to learn how to design and build sites. It ensures the backend code is compliant, and the audit feature is a great time saver. Ensuring sites are responsive and look great on different devices is super easy. The CMS feature is powerful, especially for adding new pages or making updates. The resources are awesome, from tutorials to templates. The admin section is simple and useful for billing, etc.

We use Webflow to design and host our website and to manage our content, forms and landing pages.

Pros

  • Easy website builder
  • Intuitive

Cons

  • The Content Management System needs improvement. In my experience, it's very difficult to organise all our content at big volumes. We want to create a resources section where we can categorize our content but there isn't an easy or intuitive way to do it
  • In my opinion, it's incredibly difficult to create tables in an article
  • You have to do custom coding for anchor links within an article and it's time consuming and, in my opinion, super annoying
  • Website designs are not responsive we need to keep designing a separate mobile version
  • In my opinion, Formatting content in articles is annoying compared to other CMSs like Wordpress, Shopify, Wix, Blogger, etc. Worst experience I've had.
  • Changes to the nav bar on the homepage do not reflect universally, we needed to do the same changes all over again for our blog and mobile
  • Content editors need to keep logging in every time they add content

Likelihood to Recommend

I would only recommend Webflow to someone who wants to create a super simple website with a few pages. I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone who is looking to start a blog or write content because, in my opinion, it's just a nightmare, especially compared to other CMSs out there.

We use Webflow as our CMS. We decided to redesign our website, which was previously built in PHP, so that the team could collaborate on the content creation and design. Webflow allows almost anyone to start creating a website, which was great for our time since we don't have any website developers in-house.

  • Drag and drop design.
  • Styling without the need of coding.
  • Optimize the backend for better performance.
  • Flexibility for layout design.

Cons

  • Though the knowledge hub is great, it would be great to know everything from the start, like libraries.
  • Support could improve. It is being able to ask specific questions to a CSM or something like that.

Likelihood to Recommend

I believe it's the best tool for website development. It's easy to learn and use, and it allows you to design whatever you want instead of sticking to more basic layouts.
