Solid communication tool

Rating: 6 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We've used Cisco Jabber for inter-office communication through instant messaging and digital calling. We have a large staff base with multiple locations and Cisco Jabber helped us better communicate with one another. The ability to use it on a desktop or through a mobile application is nice. There are other tools like video conferencing options, but we have used other programs for those services.

Pros

  • Works for quick communication internally. Sending a teammate an instant message is easy and straightforward.
  • Easy to see co-worker status
  • Allows for virtual phone calls

Cons

  • Can be somewhat slow starting up
  • Does not save instant message chats
  • Audio settings can seem inconsistent

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need a virtual solution for someone without a desktop phone, it can do the job. That can be nice for offices or homes with insufficient phone lines. The Cisco Jabber app usually opens on startup, which is nice so you don't have to worry about missing any communication. Other features, such as instant messaging allow you to chat with teammates across your business. Sending an IM can make it easy to get quick answers to questions and keep your day moving. There are limitations on the IM - you can't save past chats and sometimes shared screenshots are not always received properly. If it had more integrations that would help.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Cisco Jabber to collaborate with my teams on tasks and projects through instant messaging, discussions, and document sharing hence increasing productivity. Cisco Jabber enables me to join online [meetings] and training sessions with my teams very quickly. Cisco Jabber integrates seamlessly with other third-party applications to improve work performance.

Pros

  • Conducting online meetings and trainings.
  • Ease to organize and manage projects.
  • Fast and secure files sharing.
  • Group chats.
  • Video conferencing.

Cons

  • The performance of Cisco Jabber depends on excellent internet connectivity.

Likelihood to Recommend

For better collaboration with teams on workflows and projects, Cisco Jabber is the most appropriate tool to use. I do recommend Cisco Jabber for secure online meetings and great video conferencing.

Enterprise collaboration for everyone

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Webex as our meeting and collaboration tool for all employees across the organization. We also use it for video conferences between all staff too. And, meetings with external contacts and vendors. It builds on top of the Cisco VOIP phone system we use and works fantastic for all of our collaboration needs.

Pros

  • Video conferencing.
  • Video and audio meetings with internal and external contacts.
  • Screen and document sharing.
  • Training opportunities.
  • Remote support for staff in-office and at home.

Cons

  • Calling into a Webex from a cell phone is problematic and difficult due to dial options required post call in.
  • screen share options for video conferences are not fully baked yet. some enhancements are needed to set video layout options from the presenter perspective.
  • tool bar options are a bit clunky to navigate.

Likelihood to Recommend

Staff meetings, video conferences, and large group meetings this is the best application out there for collaborating. For planned and scheduled meetings this works great too. Video and audio quality when you have a full-service Cisco environment this works great in. For non-Cisco telephony businesses, this may not be the best solution for all collaboration requirements. as this better works with all Cisco configurations. For quick ad-hoc meetings, other platforms can be as good or better suited depending on needs. Webex is a little more expensive than competitors from my perspective but again we have other Cisco systems so this works well with them. And, having other Cisco products does help drive the per-user cost down on purchase and renewal.

It's easy to connect with your team and manage virtual meetings with Cisco Jabber. Communicate with your team anytime, anywhere via voice, video, and text message. You can also transfer calls and hold meetings. This makes working from home more integrated and efficient.

Pros

  • Audio quality is up to mark
  • Security is top notch as its from Cisco
  • Allows integration with Okta

Cons

  • Needs optimization on low network
  • More options for notification sound needed
  • Added prefix while calling can be reduced

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very useful in one-on-one communication but not so efficient when [the] audience is large.

Cisco Webex Teams is straight forward and easy to use!

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I truly enjoy using Cisco Webex Teams, I find it very easy to use for chatting, group messaging and collaboration, as well as using it for video calls from my PC or video endpoint like a Webex board I have in my office. The mobile app is also useful to use on your mobile device. It is used for inter-office communication as well as communicating with people outside the organization. Creating meetings is easy and effective again with internal and external people. I do like how easy it is to share content live and send files. The whiteboard functions works extremely well and saves all of the information so it can be sent to someone if they miss a meeting. Webex Teams seems to always be adding new functionality. Recently they added a dictation software as well as voice control. I've found these new features to be accurate and effective.

Pros

  • Collaborating with chat
  • Video Calls
  • Content Sharing
  • Audio Calls
  • Whiteboarding
  • Dictation
  • Voice control

Cons

  • Integrating with traditional Webex
  • Integrating with Microsoft Teams
  • Integrating with Call manager

Likelihood to Recommend

If you want to use the basic chat and calling function with in Cisco Teams it's free. This makes it very attractive to get started with so I would think small or new organizations could find this a great fit. I think administering Webex teams is not difficult so if you have limited technical know how and wanted something easy to administer this would be a good fit. If you find yourself needing to pull a large group to collaborate on project with a lot of content flying around I think keeping a Teams space for that topic is great. Also if you plan to keep an on going conversation going with a group of people Teams is a perfect fit. If you are looking to some how replace your telephone system all together with it, I'm not sure if it is ready for that function just yet, but perhaps in the future it might.

Cisco Jabber Review

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We deployed Jabber to all laptop users (~340, company-wide) before the government announced a circuit breaker (stay-at-home notice). It allows users who are working remotely to remain contactable for both internal colleagues and external parties which is important for collaboration and improves productivity. In addition, it avoids making users use their personal mobile phone for work, which would incur additional costs to monthly phone bills.

Pros

  • Supports SAML SSO
  • Integration with Outlook Calendar
  • Screen Sharing
  • Superior Voice/Video Call Quality

Cons

  • Missing Speed Dial Feature
  • Unable to Access Voicemails

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very useful especially in this new norm when more users are working remotely. However, other collaboration tools (for example Microsoft Teams) are gearing up and getting more popular except not integrated with PSTN. Cisco Jabber may get eliminated and replaced if other tools are able to integrate with PSTN.

Cisco Webex Teams Review

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Currently, we use it for internal communication between departments and in some cases with users external to our organization.

We also use it to join Webex conferences to which we have been invited or organized either from the computer or to use as a bridge with our Webex board.

Using Webex Teams as a bridge to our Webex board allows a faster connection to our conferences and an additional way to share the content we want to present at video conferences.

Pros

  • Friendly interface
  • Audio Calls quality
  • Video Calls quality

Cons

  • Integration with Microsoft Teams
  • Better emojis
  • Integration with Zoom

Likelihood to Recommend

Cisco Webex Teams is adapted to scenarios where there is a large number of users within the organization where it is required to share information and make both audio and video calls and continuously share content in order to collaborate in real-time.

If you only want video or audio, this solution may be oversized for you.

New exciting experience: Cisco Webex Teams

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have just started to use Cisco Webex Teams during the Cisco Live Barcelona event. I find it easy to use. It has a good integration with Webex application, and I can even see my history of calls made in Webex. It really looks good, and I am looking forward to see how it will integrate with other applications like Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams.

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Integration

Cons

  • None at the moment

Likelihood to Recommend

Cisco Webex Teams is good for social events where you want to quickly add a lot of people into groups and have them collaborate with each other. I don’t know how well it can be integrated in a company that does not have many other Cisco technologies.
