Veeam Backup for AWS Reviews & Insights

Veeam has been a game-changer for our organization. Since the first day of implementation till now, we have not had any issues with it. It works better than any backup software that we have used in my 25 years in IT. We do not have to worry about failed or missed backups as it just consistently works. It is also so much faster than any other backup software we have used and is very user-friendly. We rarely have to call support but when we have, the support has been top-notch. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

We depend on Veeam to keep our data backed up safely and securely. We don't have to worry about it knowing that it is backed up with Veeam.

We have numerous data that is on-prem and in hybrid cloud that needs to be backed up. We are also want protection also from a cyber security attack. Our challenge is to have a central system to backup, restore, and replicate our operations among different platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS) . The goal is to replace our legacy backup systems.

Virtualization is important as we ned to back up our OS system and data storage among numerous platforms. Also there is flexibility in backing up data on different platforms.

Backup, low cost

Veeam Backup for AWS suits best when we are already backing up different workloads using Veeam backup, we used Veeam Backup for AWS as Proof Of Concept and tested its working and it was very smooth and efficient with respect to the backup and recovery functionalities and user interface options.

Veeam Backup for AWS is well suited for organization where they are already backing up other workloads such as file servers , VMs, SQL servers using Veeam backup, The easy to use and Familiar Veeam interface will be less complicated to manage the backup infrastructure compared to other backup applications being used .

Finally, we have a global data protection strategy that simply works as we wish. In terms of operations, we bring four main points: 1. No more shadow costs linked to data protection policies; 2. Apps migration to AWS is no longer a bottleneck with the VUL model; 3. A clean main overview of our data protection strategy; 4. VB4AWS is a module of Veeam's main composable solution, so you can integrate different technologies into a unified view.

Veeam for AWS is great if you need complete control in a multi-account environment. It leverages the automation part with operations and is extremely open to other technologies through its API REST integration HTTP method. This product focuses on the leading technologies used in the enterprise industry market. I think Veeam is less appropriate if you think of provisioning your workloads on a complete serverless cloud solution.

We use it to backup our AWS and it is a phenomenal product. It addresses many of the concerns we had plus even more. I am pleased with every aspect of this product and would not hesitate to recommend it to your organisation.

Anywhere you need to backup AWS it is appropriate.

I currently use Veeam Backup for AWS to store backups offsite with Immutability and Encryption. Some of these features we took advantage of help our overall security posture and meet some of our compliance requirements. Our insurance company also has encouraged us to implement some of these features to reduce downtime if something were to happen. I'm confident in our Veeam and AWS setup that data is protected and accessible if I was need access.

I like the idea of using this product for backups and cold storage. This allows for long retention times and a very low cost. The ability to quickly restore and the efficiency of all the products involved. I haven't come across scenarios where it isn't appropriate. I don't have a lot of experience so for me, it works well in my cases.

We use Veeam to back up all our servers (virtual and physical). We also replicate backups to the AWS cloud for offsite storage.

We are a small organization. We were able to set up backups to the cloud (AWS) fairly easily and quickly. We are a small staff and this resolved a backup requirement quickly and easily.

We have been using Veeam Backup & Replication for many years, along with Enterprise Manager. We are now starting to use Veeam Backup for AWS because we trust Veeam and because they are very well positioned to help us succeed.

Offsite backups for DR purposes

I use it for backups and restoring files / VMs / etc. I enjoy the product and its very easy to use.
We use it for backing up and restoring drives and files for users.

Its great for cloning virtual machines into a new environment. It is also great for doing backups of our EC2s and VMs in AWS.
One thing I wish is there was a direct-to-cloud backup. where you didn't have to first back it up onsite. If you dont have the storage on site for all the backups you want, you could run into an issue.
