I use UserTesting's unmoderated, moderated, and quant functions. I use unmoderated to run new products or ideas by contributors and gather feedback on how much I like them and what we could improve. I use the quant for quick and simple surveys to gather feedback on products as well.
Pros
Easy and fast to find contributors, recruiting is done in a day or two.
Contributors provide quality, thoughtful responses.
Customer support is quick to respond.
Easy to swap out bad contributors.
Cons
I've experienced some bugs with the platform. For example, I've had some contributor videos not upload and had to replace them.
The quant tool is very basic and doesn't provide many advanced features.
Likelihood to Recommend
UserTesting makes finding respondents super quick and easy. I'm always amazed at how quickly I can fully recruit for an unmoderated or moderated test and how fast contributors are to upload their videos. Contributors are also well-trained to answer a prompt in its entirety and always provide thoughtful answers.

To ensure the standard of our products and to address the customers needs from feed back, user testing is helpful to gain critical insight in our organization.

Feed back from customers
Marketing insight
Cons
AI Integration expansion

Because this is a big pool for testers that helps for getting prompt results
We've integrated UserTesting into our product development cycle to gain insights into user experience and behavior. We use it:
Identifying User Pain Points: we conduct usability tests to observe how users interact with our website and mobile app.
Testing New Features: before launching new features, we gather feedback from our target audience.
Understanding User Journeys: UserTesting helps us map out user journeys and understand how users interact with our platform from start to finish. This has been crucial for identifying drop-off points in our sales funnel.
Pros
Identifying user pain points
Understanding the user journey
Testing new features
Cons
Pricing a for small businesses is a drawback. If I would like to use it for my personal project the cost is prohibitive, limiting my ability to conduct as many tests as I need
Likelihood to Recommend
When rolling out a new feature on our website, such as an updated checkout process with more ads, UserTesting provided immediate user feedback. This helped us identify and iterate on the pain points before the full launch.
For ongoing usability testing, UserTesting helps pinpoint specific areas where our customers struggle, such as confusing navigation or unclear calls to action.

We use it for prototyping and testing layouts and the usability of our products. We have conducted tests from basic layout all the way to high fidelity to garner information about user navigation and habits. The video and feedback we get then goes into the next round and so on, we have used it for multiple projects in this nature
Pros
the video feedback, it works really well
The participant selection is on point as we want new users most of the time
its really easy to use, i've never found an issue with getting about on the site
Cons
I wish you could specify for things like high level of detail needed, some people give short answers and some give great explained ones and some projects require more of that
price, when we started with it we used the smaller packages, but once we grew and had more budget it got easier to deal with
when you first start your first few tests can be a bit off but thats more of a training thing
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to test the functionality and user experience of a product it is a really good way of doing it in "mass". you are essentially getting 85% of the experience of real world test but online. One bit of advice though is to make sure you have a really clear idea of what you want to test, the more specific the better.

We use UserTesting mainly to conduct unmoderated usability tests. Since we practice agile, we must frequently launch tests every week or every other week to receive user feedback and gain insights so the design team can work on them. What's good about UserTesting is that it doesn't take long until participants complete the test (unless you are screening for niche users), so you can launch the test, go for a walk, and then come back to analyze the data.
Pros
Product Manager who follows up on your UserTesting usage and gives advice/support when you need it.
UserTesting University is a great platform to learn how to use UT and general information about research.
UserTesting can find participants quickly, so you won't need to wait long before you can start the analysis.
Cons
Sometimes when you want to go back to the previous page, it feels really slow.
(Not sure if it's UserTesting fault) Sometimes, users can't open the URL for some technical reason (It's just a normal www. website).
Likelihood to Recommend
The unmoderated usability test on UserTesting is perfect. However, the tree test/card sort is not great, as you have two websites for it, and some functionalities are also missing. I also rarely use UserTesting AI quick insights because it's hard to believe these insights when sometimes the transcript is wrong!
In our organization, we rely on UserTesting to validate new app features before development. By testing these features, we gather valuable insights to support stakeholder discussions. UserTesting helps us address business problems like ensuring feature alignment with user needs and enhancing decision-making processes. Our use case primarily focuses on pre-development testing to inform feature design and improve stakeholder buy-in.
Pros
Rapid Feedback Gathering
Extensive Contributor Base and Versatile Profile Filtering
Cons
Enhanced A/B testing options
Enable other members to edit and manage sessions
Likelihood to Recommend
UserTesting proves invaluable for obtaining high-quality outcome insights, enabling the capture of users' faces and behaviors as if you were alongside them. However, if your focus shifts towards acquiring larger quantities of data, alternative avenues might be more appropriate. UserTesting prioritizes depth over breadth, excelling in detailed qualitative feedback rather than sheer quantity.
Using it mainly for evaluative research for our website and app as well as more generative research via interviews. It helps us with the ease of recruitment to talk to our users, streamlining research operations through screener templates and study templates, and hosting videos or results to easily share with stakeholders.
Pros
Great customer support should you have a question or issue
Easy to recruit and build studies
Useful metric features to view ratings, time on tasks, paths, multiple choice prompts, and sentiment analysis
Incredibly quick turnaround time on launching studies and getting results back
Cons
Technical issues periodically
Participants in unmoderated studies not being very good user testers (but UT has great functionality built-in to alleviate these situations to replace a tester at no cost or fix the issue)
Limited survey functionality and features (ie no rank sorting question)
No skip logic or other types of functionality in screener
Likelihood to Recommend
UserTesting.com is great service for getting quick feedback or something more in-depth. It's well-suited for usability studies and customer interviews, less so for surveys, tree testing or card sorting. Although it has that functionality, it doesn't meet a really delightful experience compared to other tools in that department. Their AI analysis feature is also very handy and works really well.

This tool offers a variety of functionalities to suite all research phases
We use it mostly to save time on Research Operations like unmoderated usability tests and consumer videos. We also use it for Usability metrics like SUS. I really like the capability of using their network recruitment base with the screener feature that saves me also time for quality feedbacks and video consumers.
Pros
Recruitmet

Usability Test
Unmoderated Interviews
Cons
Recruitment Network Base
Capability to launch studies on both mobile and desktop

It was a good resource to capture unboxing videos, ab tests, unmoderated usability studies and costumer videos to gain insights and feedbacks on our user experience research studies. It's really easy to share the insights and keep everything in one place. It's good for recruiting from a large-range sample on their own network base saving some time on research operational process.
I use it for quick unmoderated user feedback on live sites and prototypes. We use the feedback to guide development decisions to make sure that they are in line with user needs and goals.
Pros
Recruitment
Unmoderated
Customer service
Cons
Broader offering of of types of questions and response types. Current selection is just to limited.
Likelihood to Recommend
It just makes it really easy to quickly gather feedback from contributors. For US markets I normally get 10 respondents within 2 hours of launching the study. The turn around time is great in a last minute thinking culture at times. I extensively use use and appreciate the pre-panel filters, super easy and helpful.
