TriNet is a one-stop HR partner and wonderful for companies that do not
want to stand up an in-house HR generalist function. TriNet takes care
of all of the "less fun" aspects of HR, like state registrations and
taxes, managing payroll, handling time off, and benefits. I have saved
so much time and effort by having TriNet manage all of the innards of HR
compliance, and it's even better that they are very responsive. For us
TriNet manages: compliance, new hire onboarding, benefits (insurance and
401K), performance management, expense, and time management. The only
detriment is that they have purchased quite a few of their additional
services (such as performance and expense) and have tacked it onto their
platform, so it is managed by a separate "cloud services" team which
can have a much longer lag time to resolve issues.

TriNet is great for companies that do not want to build out a robust internal HR compliance and generalist function. If you already have someone managing state registrations, unemployment, and so on, then TriNet is not the best fit.

Relieves the company administrative burden associated with HR, helps contain HR costs, and minimizes employer-related risk. TriNet may be hard to use but it's an empowering solution offering additional cloud products and strategic services.
TriNet is being used throughout the business both in the US and Canada and covers all of our HR needs. We needed an easy-to-use and self-sufficient system that could handle on-boarding, HR, payroll, and the works.

Overall, TriNet does the job pretty well and you can always contact an associate when there's an issue or you need assistance. However, I feel that employees don't go to TriNet or don't feel comfortable contacting the service, most of the time it's me as the lead contact.
We have about 7 employees and use TriNet for our payroll needs. It addresses health benefits, workers compensation insurance, cost breakdowns, W-2 and tax reporting. It is very beneficial.

We at EV Connect use TriNet as our PEO across the company - various departments use it to search for new talents, and prospective applicants, run background checks on new prospects, etc., and our accounting department uses it to onboard new hires, process payroll, track vacations, sick time, payroll reporting, and our employees use it to upload expenses and request time off.
