We utilize TriNet as our PEO for our organization in regards to benefits, payroll, on/off-boarding to name a few. The business problems that this product addresses is avoiding anything falling through the cracks with the help of our assigned account specialists. I really like the E-Verify feature during the onboarding process. It makes my role during that step seamless.
Pros
Payroll
E-Verify
Ticket System
Cons
Benefit Costs
Likelihood to Recommend
I appreciate the ticket system as well as having the direct e-mail to our account rep for easy communication. I like how the ticket system tracks the progress of your request, and that you can go in and add more detail if needed.

TriNet is used by our whole organization as a PEO company. TriNet provides payroll services as well as 401k retirement through Transamerica and our medical benefits.
Pros
Medical / Health Benefits - the process from start to finish is seamless; great offerings with numerous choices.
Great customer service - we have a dedicated team that stays in touch through bi-weekly meetings, emails, and constant communication.
Payroll processing - this may seem simple but unless you have been with a company that couldn't seem to get it right - you don't understand the depth of that statement.
Really listening - this is part of excellent customer service - but again, doesn't always come naturally to most companies, or most account managers.
Cons
The payroll platform does not currently allow for shift workers who are also salaried. This becomes a problem when you have terms or new hires. We have communicated this need to our account manager, and she said this may possibly be added next year.
401k / retirement communication - I realize this is through Transamerica, but unless it is the annual reporting, our employees don't receive communication throughout the year. It would be a good idea to communicate at least quarterly with reminders to enroll, ways to reach out to someone when you have questions, etc.
Also payroll platform related - any payroll cycle that has new hires or terms requires us to an admin pay code in order to override the system's calculated hours for the salaried employees. It would be nice if we could enter those hours without having to do a manual plug.
TriNet was presented to our company as specializing in government contracting however there are numerous situations (previously described) that TriNet had no idea how to handle.
The TriNet platform (or company in general) is not able to handle employees who live overseas and are required to be paid in euros. It would be really great if this was part of the capability package.

Previously described but TriNet does really well in communicating the entire benefit enrollment as well as the renewal period. Excellent from start to finish not just from a corporate perspective but also from an employee perspective. Also previously described, TriNet does not offer payroll/PEO services to companies with employees who live and work abroad. This would be an excellent offering for companies with this need.
TriNet is being used across the whole organization. We manage most HR functions (payroll, time off, benefits, etc.) via TriNet.
Pros
Payroll.
Entering new hires.
Day-to-day support.
Cons
Access to benefits information during the off-season. Employees often want to view plan comparisons, but don't have access to them outside of open enrollment season.
Information on various terminology like job codes, leave codes, legal classifications, etc. Some sort of dictionary/glossary would be helpful.
Bugs with vacation accrual. There have been several times where accrual dashboards are inaccurate for employees.

TriNet is great for basic HR management. My experience with TriNet has varied depending on the representative assigned to me. I've had representatives in the past who were not very responsive or knowledgeable, but I now work with representatives who are extremely responsive and knowledgeable, which has made my and my organization's experience with TriNet much more enjoyable and helpful.

Manager in Human Resources (Political Organization company, 11-50 employees)
Trinet is used for timekeeping, benefits management and employee management across the business.
Pros
Trinet makes the benefits and payroll requirements process very easy to follow.
Provides flexibility in establishing benefit profiles.
Managing payroll easy and automated.
Cons
Navigating leaves of absence that exceed one pay period was difficult.
The process of running reports is not intuitive.
Likelihood to Recommend
Trinet is well suited to manage the workforce of a small moderate sized company. Companies with larger quantities of personnel that can support overhead staff would likely not benefit.
