Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our organisation we are focusing more on UI testing and as much as possible code less automation. Hence the Testim tool is a great help. We are using Testim in three different use cases i.e. Basic smoke testing, End to end smoke testing and regression testing. In basic smoke we are validating the page statuses and in e2e smoke add, edit, etc. In Regression full functionality.

Pros

  • Data driven testing
  • Parallel executions
  • UI testing
  • Less coding

Cons

  • Multiple tab handling in browser
  • Window base pop up validation
  • Preview pdf validation
  • Tool tip validation

Likelihood to Recommend

Test case refactoring is very easy due to AI feature where finding locator after every deployment is easy. Also as it is very UI friendly and easy to understand, train new employees are quite easy. Less coding helps more team members participation without having proper coding skill set.

Disadvantages:

Different Window based ui validation is not happening in the tool.

Likelihood to Recommend

Testim has been great at automating Frontend and integration regression testing. I do not think it would work wellTricentis Testimfor backend code testing, if it could not be done through UI. The record function is very good, and makes automating test cases much faster and more accurate. We have had great success using Testim to verify SalesForce environments, NetSuite environments, and our own JumpCloud application as well.
