Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Trello every day, and have for about 15 years now! My organization hasn't adopted it, but personally, I have done so. I use it for my volunteer projects, board roles and work. I have 3 workspaces I operate on, and within each workspace is its own board.
Pros
- In particular, Trello does a great job of offering a clear checklist option. I love being able to physically check things off of a list and archive as I go.
- Trello has excellent collaboration features - you can tag others in comments and have an ongoing chain of communication within specific cards or you can add "members" to tabs so they can follow progress.
- I specifically love the template options because I can create a template for certain types of events. When i'm ready to start a new event, I can just copy the template and have all of my to do's in one place.
- There's also a label system for cards, which is great! You can categorize cards based on needs such as: requires follow up, ongoing or just notes.
Cons
- I wish that you could click a button and create different versions of the charts you created, for example, if my board could turn into a gantt chart!
- For my use case (events), it is sometimes difficult to see the overall event picture with Trello. It's less of a project management tool (in my opinion) and more for tasks.
Return on Investment
- This hasn't provided ROI toward overall business objectives, but it has kept me sane!
- I rely on Trello to keep me organized, and therefore it benefits my organization as a whole.

Trello came to our company to help us organize tasks, to dos, recurring activities, simple information and stay updated on what is happening inside our team. It's great to measure the advances in your own tasks but moreover, to keep track of the team updates. Very helpful to organize a week and have set priorities.

My experience with Trello.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
A colleague at the head office recommended Trello to me, and I used Trello to monitor the development of new learning resources. I started to use it as part of my personal productivity routine. It helped me keep track of my daily and weekly To-Do lists and was a key component of my Weekly Review process. I created a series of personal Kanban boards. The Card format of Trello lends itself to this approach. As a visual thinker, the colour coding of the cards helped me understand what needed to be done and what type of task it was. Finally, the physical movement of cards from 'To Do' to my weekly plan and then to 'Done' was helpful and satisfying.

- Makes it easy to create a functioning Kanban Board.
Cons
- I use colour coding a lot so I would like a wider range of colour options.
- Also as a visual thinker I would like to be able to easily add images to cards.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Trello to organize and schedule my day to day tasks. I also use it for project management and organizing what projects need to be done and all of the steps within that project that are necessary (and in what specific order) to accomplish. It's an incredible tool. I love Trello!

My employees are scattered across the US. We use Trello to track the activities that need to be accomplished, as well as who is responsible for accomplishing them. I use the automation feature to create lists of recurring activities each month. I also use the template feature, combined with the checklists, to create lists of reports that need to be sent on a monthly basis.

- I would love to be able to add a date to the automation (e.g., create a task labeled "October bank rec" instead of just "bank rec").
